Reverend Hagee: "Hitler did God's Will"

The article you linked to says that he said that over a decade ago--the article itself is from the 2008 presidential election, trying to make John McCain look bad. Why do you care about this now?

Without sharing belief in the Judaic god it's difficult to comment.

I might suggest that the statement "by pushing Jews to live in Palestine and Israel, Hitler was doing God's Will" is as accurate and as didactic as, for example, saying that "by slaughtering ~10 million Native Americans, the US Govt allowed tens of millions of other kinds of people to inhabit the areas previously exclusively inhabited by Native Americans".

I mean, sure, if the statement could be shown to be correct, terrific. But... so? It doesn't erase or even ameliorate the horrific atrocities which occurred, in either genocidal event.

Is this related to the End Days concept that God'll shout out "Final call!" because the Jews have their own nation?

I recall a commentator noting that the Christian Right's support of Israel was not from some love of Jews, or a sense of fairness, but precisely because they thought it was the primary step for Revelation to begin in earnest, an indescribably cynical reason to support Israel.

Well Hagee is back in the news because he was seen in the front (behind Beck) row at Glenn Beck's God rally.

Not very unplausible when you consider the god of the old Testament.

Considering that the standard method, in Christian theology, of reconciling the concept of an all-powerful deity with a mythical being that tortures naughty folks for all eternity is to claim that said torturer is really doing God's will...

I fail to see how this should be remotely shocking.

DispensationalismWP:

In the dispensational view, the time in which the church operates, known as the church age or the Christian dispensation, represents a "parenthesis". That is, it is an interruption in God's dealings with the Jewish people as a nation as described in the Old Testament, and it is the time when the Gospel was preached and salvation in the present age is offered to the Gentiles and Jews alike. During the present dispensation a small Jewish remnant along with a large Gentile number are to be saved and become part of the Church. Israel as a nation is partially blinded until the fullness of the Gentiles has come. Afterwards however, God’s continued care for the Jewish people as a nation will be revealed after the end of the church age when Israel will be restored to their land and will accept Jesus as their messiah and therefore "all Israel shall be saved." That is, those of Israel who come to faith in Jesus Christ and physically live through the Great Tribulation will be saved from the Beast and the false prophet, all who come to attack Israel will be defeated by the coming of Jesus Christ Himself with His church, and thus Israel will be brought to national salvation. Jesus Christ will then sit on the throne of David and will begin the Theocratic Davidic Kingdom which is promised in numerous places in the Old Testament, in which believers and Christ reign together on the earth from Israel.

Hagee's been around for a long time and he is a truly vile individual- right up there with Pat Robertson. This is the same person who said in 2005 that Hurricane Katrina was God's judgement on NOLA because they were scheduled to have a gay pride parade. I don't know what his thoughts are on the infinite wisdom of punishing places like Biloxi as well.

He was in the spotlight recently as he was invited to perform the closing prayer at Beckapalooza last weekend.
