Republican/Conservative hypocricy & the Constitution

So, how does the existence of completely UNregulated gun ownership fit the definition of the necessity of a "Well regulated Militia"?
What "completely UNregulated gun ownership"?

Yep, they're going to come take away everyone's guns any minute now.......wait for it, they're coming.......I'm serious, they're on their way......Damn it, where are they?!! They were supposed to be here by now!!!!!
So you think it was Republicans that pushed the Chicago and DC handgun bans?

Was it Republicans who decided to sue gunmakers for illegal 3rd-party uses of their product?

As opposed to republicans who think the whole part in it about well regulated militia doesn't exist or mean anything.
It means exactly what it says. So does the bit about the right of the people to keep and bear arms.

Have you ever read the Heller decision?

The concern over "the government is going to take away our guns" has been going on for a long time and I still haven't seen it happen yet.

SCOTUS has decided that the 2nd Amendment refers to individual gun ownership, not within the context of a militia. However, they also decided that common-sense regulations of firearms IS Constitutional.

What does this mean? A city cannot outright ban hand-gun ownership. But they can severely restrict who can buy and carry one.

Makes sense to me.

It happened over 20 years ago where I live... nothing hypothetical about it.

And Dems nationwide have tried to ban guns through the back door, by suing the manufacturers out of business. They failed, but it wasn't through lack of trying.

Did government officials come to your home and remove your guns?

yeah, we sue gun dealers down South who sell 20 Glocks at a time, to folks who take them to Brooklyn, sell them out of his trunk, which are then used to kill children.

how dare us.

now, how is is that GOPers can claim to support individual rights and freedom, and yet be against abortion rights and recreational drug use?

Why are you moving the goal posts?

Dems not only tried to pass laws making handguns illegal, they actually did so in at least 5 cities - Chicago, DC, Oak Park IL, Evanston IL and Morton Grove IL.

In many other cities, lacking the votes to ban gun sales, Dem mayors sued gun manufacturers in an attempt to put them out of business and thus end gun sales threough the back door.

By your ridiculous criteria, cocaine isn't illegal in the US because the police didn't break down everyone's door looking for cocaine.

I said gun manufacturers, not dealers.

Perhaps you should take a remedial reading class in a community college near you? Inability to comprehend what you are reading seems to be an ongoing problem with you. I'm here to help Thunder, help me help you. :)

Much of the hysteria over gun laws in the US stems from fears that the "government" is going to physically remove legally owned guns from their owners. That is not the case.

A firearm may never ever be used for any purpose in its existence. It can sit on a shelf and never harm any living thing.
An abortion kills a human being each and every time it's performed.Without the benefit of due process.

Congratulations, you've just asserted that you think all corporate-owned news media (which is 99% of it) can be censored by the government.

No Constitutional hypocrisy there, nope.

Absolute nonsense.

The hysteria is that they'll make guns illegal, and that has already happened in several Dem-controlled municipalities so it is in fact a real fear.
