Merged Israel Attacks Palestinian Aid Flotilla, According To Reports

Why do you think stunts like these are committed in the first place?

In order to deflect attention from Iran. Not a surprise that Turkey is now refusing to abide by the sanctions imposed on Iran, ie continuing (refined) fuel sales to Iran among other things, and now with the LFA attack against the IDF, another deflection from the Hariri investigation into Syrian/Iranian involvement in the assassination plot, Turkey is vying to replace the US in arms sales to the LFA.

All another day at the office.

That and also to replace the USA's influence in the area with their own.
The Turkish PM is a supporter of Palestinian terrorism and to a certain extent Hamas as well.

You know, a lot of white supremacists (read: Stormfront) argue the same way and they're from the far-far-right.

Just sayin'.

Oh, absolutely. I agree 100% that the far-right and far-left are, de facto, identical in their conspiracy theories, hatred of Jews, etc., and only change a bit the kind of wonderful utopia the dirty Jooooooooz are stopping them from achieving.

I've actually spent a fair amount of time reading Stormfront and other white supremacist sites. I disagree with your characterization.

Just browsing through. Israel is on a hiding to nothing. No matter what this inquiry finds, Israel is the bad guys. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Meanwhile Iran is going full speed ahead with their nuclear technology and most of the press ignore it.

I read about Iran's perfectly legal nuclear program almost every day in the press. Not much about Israel's huge nuclear arsenal, though.

We can only pray that these bumbling marauders don't attempt to use these weapons of mass destruction in "self defense".

The days when the US could enforce its will on the world are drawing to a close.

How would you characterize their views towards Israel?

I should add that a good chunk of don't necessarily actively oppose Israel so much as they simply want America to stop funding them. Those certain members don't really care about any "plight" of Palestinians, but instead just don't really care about either side.

I may have misunderstood what you were trying to say.

I would characterize their views as being anti-Israel.

I would say those (white supremacists at Stormfront) who want the US to stop funding Israel are hostile to Israel, they just want to present it in terms that are more sympathetic.

No doubt, if Israel is ever attacked and looks like going under, they would no hesitate in using nuclear bombs.

Wonder why no one has commented about the BBC program on this? I did not watch that yet. Perhaps would watch during the weekend.

Anyway, here it is:

Thanks for the links. A few noteworthy quotes from the special:
we would use our right of passive resistance. We would through them into the sea!
Bulent Yildirim Head, IHH

many of them...most of them..hundreds..were innocent people who had no clue this was planned
Maj Gen(Retired) Giora Eiland, Head of IDF Inquiry

This is not passive resistance
--BBC journalist pointing out the obvious

We found bullets and shells not in use by Israeli forces
--Maj ben(Retired) Giora Eiland, Head of IDF Inquiry
Sounds like some of the flotilla humanitarians were armed with their own weapons

at the end it really wasn't about bringing aid to Gaza, it was a political move
--BBC journalist again pointing out the obvious

I also wanted to mention IHH volunteer Murat Akinan. Both from his statements and from the video and photos, he saved the life of at least one IDF soldier from other humanitarians who wanted to kill him.

Portlandatheist, I'm assuming that last bit was from the recent BBC doumentary which was commented on in this article:

BBC’s flotilla film slammed as ‘biased’
In Death in the Med, the BBC’s flagship documentary series Panorama examined the ill-fated Israeli interception of the Mavi Marmara, the only ship from the Free Gaza flotilla which saw confrontation between activists and Israeli troops.

The half-hour program had exclusive access to the Israeli navy unit that took part in the raid and interviewed a number of the commandos, as well as members of the Free Gaza group and the IHH movement that organized the flotilla.

Using previously unseen video footage from the IDF and confiscated passenger tapes, mostly recorded by members of a group called Cultures of Resistance, the program concluded that the main aim of the activists had not been to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza, but rather to orchestrate a political act designed to put pressure on Israel and the international community.

The program also concluded that the Israeli commandos encountered a violent, premeditated attack by a hardcore group of activists organized by IHH members. Nine Turkish nationals were killed by the commandos after they came under attack when boarding the Mavi Marmara.
The BBC accused of bias by the IHH and other 'activist' groups/organizations, a strange turn of events indeed.

To which the same knee-jerk, blatant attempt at disinformation reply by said organizations:

Sunday’s demonstration outside BBC headquarters in west London is being organized by Ken O’Keefe, one of the Free Gaza activists from the Mavi Marmara, who was interviewed in the documentary, and a group called the Muslim Defense League.

“Enough is enough, we all know the truth of the terrorist attacks committed by Israel on unarmed peace activists! The BBC needs to know that it cannot continue airing lies as the truth,” this group proclaims on its Facebook page.

bigjelmapro, another great quote from your link:
... from critics of Israel, who are furious that the program was not as hostile to Israel as they thought it should be.
I guess the flotilla truthers can add the BBC and IHH activist Murat Akinan to the growing list of disinfo. Seems to me that anything short of the BBC lying about what actually happened completely enrages these folks. Their narrative is that the BBC is lying, IHH activist Murat Akinan is lying, al jazera is lying, captain Mehmut Tuval is lying, and so on.

Yet again the BBC is cast as bias by one side or the other.

Usually its the Israel defenders but they seem strangely quiet on this one?
