If you click Start and then Games, you'll see a box in the lower right corner that says "Check your computer's Performance Information". Underneath that you'll see "Current System" followed by a number. What's your number?
You can also find it in Control Panel by selecting Performance Information and Tools, where the number is referred to as your "Base Score". You can click Re-run the assessment in the lower right corner to run the test again. It takes a few minutes.
My score is 3.7. Apparently it's limited by my graphics card and something called "Desktop performance for Windows Aero", whatever that is.
