I don't have a digital camera and you can calculate it yourself or just use your own frigging arm.
Did you *EVEN* try ?
I will repeat the instruction *slowly*.
* extend your arm before you, make your hand quasi flat. Hand must not be fully parallel to eye sight direction
* look at the angle
* rotate your forarm toward your eye leaving the bieps at the samne position. Do this until it is 90°
* look at the angle
* rotate your arm further until the forarm quasi align with eye
* the angle is more accentued.
Heck while typing this post I found even an easier way.
Take a card. Bend it to a nearly flat angle. Look at it from the side so that it is not a projected line but a bit of surface is shown.
Rotate it. You will see an apparent angle change.
The effect is due that instead of measuring the angle with the same side for both segment of the angle, as you rotate the lower part is not visually referenced, and instead the angle is done with the opposite side or background.
That works only naturally if you don't have a very way to identify back and foreground, like for example if the card is a single color, or say, a dark hand blob for which no definite contour is visible.

Still looks like it could be the glove of the suit hitting the thigh. The glove rotates and the front part of the glove bends a little due to hitting the thigh, as the suit bulges at the thigh when the leg flexes.
The suit arms extend the length of Bob's arms....andthe 'Patty/Bob-in-a-suit' comparison image, that you've been posting, kitakaze, shows Patty's arm length and the suit's arm length to be very close to equal, if not exactly equal.
You said that Bob had extensions in the suit arms. All the while I was saying it's just the suit itself. You kept saying there were extensions. You were adamant about it. Giant, coloured fonts, derision and sarcasm to others about it, like, duh, it's obvious.
I wasn't saying that Patty's arms aren't near her body.....(they certainly are)....I was saying...and showing...that her hands are not near (near enough for her fingers to be scraping the side of her thigh, that is) the side of her legs, or, thighs..to be more specific.
In this graphic, I highlighted the dark shaded area, right below her "shoulder blade"...it's several inches away, laterally, from the center of her leg.....and, at least a few inches away from the outer edge of her thigh...
And then, of course, the center of her arm is out a few inches further, from the shaded area.
Say sweaty, maybe it's just me, but there is no visible gap whatsoever between Patty's body and her arm in the picture you used. None. I can't tell where the body ends and the arm begins, from the shoulder to where the fingertips would be. Solid. Welded.

That's right....as far as Patty's arms being right-beside the upper-torso.
Again....what I wrote earlier...

Sweaty, in the pic you used, Patty's fingertips are touching her body. There is no visible gap between hand and body anywhere in the hand area. Therefore, her hand can indeed brush her body.
Let me clarify a little. Once the suit hand hits somewhere on the body or leg, the suit hand begins to rotate, and then the fingers could start to bend as the hand scrapes past.

Oh, one other little detail just popped into my head....Patty's arm doesn't even swing in the first sequence of the film. So your scenario, LTC, was a 'non-starter', to begin with.
From the start of the film, until she starts disappearing behind the embankment...her arms do not swing at all, from what I remember....or, barely, if they do.

kitakaze's image overlays aren't as precise and accurate as the other images I'ved used, to make measurements with.
kitakaze relies on the fuzziest images available, to make his judgements....because that's how he can present a slightly, subtley distorted version of 'reality'.
Sweaty says hand extensions are in the suit, a hand in a glove is insufficient (he means it - there are capital letters)...
...Bob has hand extensions in the suit...(Hey....just ask him ).
"A hand in a glove is just fine"....WASN'T just fine....it was insufficient.
Sweaty says duh, Drew, it's obvious...
Look at Bob's left hand, Drew. It obviously has an extension on it.
But, no problem, I can do more comparisons...to prove it.
Sweaty even brings out Andrew Lloyd Sweaty to share a tune and some sarcasm for all the idiots that can't see the hand extensions in the suit...
Here comes Peter RUG-ged tail...
Hopping down the RUG-ged trail...
....with his left hand about to fall off...
Yup....no 'hand extension' there...
But wait a minute. Is Sweaty not standing by his statements 100%? Was all that scorn and ridicule from Sweaty a farce?
Sweaty says...
The suit arms extend the length of Bob's arms..and the 'Patty/Bob-in-a-suit' comparison image, that you've been posting, kitakaze, shows Patty's arm length and the suit's arm length to be very close to equal, if not exactly equal.
What the heck happened to all that blabber about the obviousness of hand extensions being in the suit? So now Bob Heironimus in a suit can have arms very close to or even exactly equal to Patty...
But wait! There's more. Not only will Sweaty completely contradict himself without the slightest acknowledgement, not only will Sweaty use Patty-from-the-back images for scribbles when it suits him while ridiculing others for doing the same...
Sweaty will use rotating computer-generated images when it suits him! Sweaty says...
I used the computer-generated hand, since there's definitely no manipulation of the hand, as it's turned. Spektator's doll hand images can be a little confusing.
Now if it goes against his preconceived notions about Patty, Sweaty says...
The computer animations are subject to errors, or distortions, created by the operator of the programs, though.
Neltana's DAZ Studio computer-generated skeleton...
We keep hearing from various uninformed 'footers that Patty's arms are too long to be a bloke in a suit, but they never tell us how much too long they are.
Here's your chance footers, where on Patty do Bob's fingers need to end for Patty's arms to be of human dimensions? Do Bob's fingers end at Patty's elbows, wrists, palms, or somewhere else?

Take a closer look, LTC...and maybe you won't see it...
I know I don't.
Patty's hand sweeps past her leg below the spot on her thigh where there's a horizontal 'line' of ruffled hair.
Her hand is lower than the half-way point on the thigh....just about at the same level as the 'thigh bulge'.
Man, the butt on that costume is terrible. Other parts are decent, but everytime I see this film (or clips from it) that ass just .... the fold.... the "diaper butt" thing. Its terrible.
Cant believe there are still people out there that truly believe (or do they?) that this film represents a real animal.
