That the Alsatians and the Lorrainers considered themselves Frenchman who happened to speak a dialect of German in 1870,and were not happy about the annexation is, of course, ignored by 9/11 Investigator.
BS, How do you know that? I could not care less about to whom belongs Alsace, Silesia, Flanders, etc. I only care about European unity and kicking Britain out of the EU. Hey, even Hitler was not interested in Alsace/Lorraine!!! Ethnically these territories were originaly German for centuries, but they were French (by conquest) for more than 2 centuries and that is a long time, comparable to the lifespan of the US. Not that I consider the US to be a real nation...
The annexatation was a disaster for Germany. Bismarck was right in having very grave doubts about it. It ensured that relations between France and Germany would be poisoned.
