British tabloid racism more evident than ever

Recent article in the Express [1] is but one of many similar over recent years, which have been discussed at length by bloggers [2] [3], among others.

These media seem to engaged in a race to the bottom to produce ever more frightening tales of immigrants invading Britain; stories with little or no basis in fact, designed to evoke an emotional reponse. Where's it going to end? Will they happy when the streets are rivers of blood^WP?

If they can't manufacture a story about Diana Spencer then they'll just invent one about hoodies/asylum seekers or whatever the middle class bogeyman of the month is. I wouldn't even wrap my chips in it.

The article is silly in that the headline says "ONE IN 5 BRITONS WILL BE ETHNICS", but later refers to "The White British and Irish ethnic groupings...."

So, five in five Britons are already "ethnics".

How many people actually read the Express? I have only met two regular readers - they believed every word to be fair. The Star is a comic bought for tits by tits.
