I am wondering now whether Obama and Medvedev might have discussed this issue at their last meeting. Maybe Medvedev wants to break away from the policies of the Putin years, but knew he would have to deal with some nasty conservatives at home if he just started a unilateral draw-down of humint resources or gave us some of our spies with no quid-pro-quo. This is a nice way out for him. The situation has been resolved peacefully, with no harm to either head of state.

I'd like to have seen the Shrub pull that one off.

I think you may have a broken irony meter--I believe the use of "Obamao" and "more change you can believe in" is a bit satirical on the part of the OP.

so they said that what the russkies got out of this spy ring was fairly trivial info, not much of any use. They also said that the ivans were in there primarily to find out what US politicos thought about Russia (not really a black op if you axe me, and most people do.)

Anyways, my question is, do you believe this? I have no reason not to, but I'm a huge fan of conjecture. Even if the spooks got something worthwhile, would the US gov't admit to this?

Our media do not seem to be interested in the curious matter of why the Russian agents accused of trying to acquire sensitive nuclear information from the U.S. Government were so quickly released. Why were they were sent back to Moscow less than two weeks after they were arrested?

I highly recommend everyone read it, so we can discuss the answers, because those answers have huge implications for the future national security of the US.

That is if anyone on this thread even cares about that.
