Yeah, they're whack. They're spending so much on going nuclear they have to import oil despite being one of the world's largest producers.

I would pity the Iranian government more if it wasn't a crackpot bunch of Islamist fruitloops who fund terrorism and hope to bully the world with a nuke. If we keep civilian casualties to a minimum and make it a quick operation we could bring real democracy to Iran and have friendly relations with the Iranian people. Many who are pro-West. This would cut support for killers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Terrorists in Palestine and Hezbollah would lose a major sponsor (a huge weight off the shoulders of the Lebanese) and we would isolate Syria, a rogue state connected to Iran in an axis of terror.

It's something that's going to have to happen eventually. Either the people overthrow the Mullahs and create a more moderate government or we'll have to do it for them. This needs to happen before they get the nuke, not after.

I'd go with the Reuben James, since most peg the start of WWII to the German/Soviet invasion of Poland, which triggered British and French (superpowers of the day) involvement.

If you want to be fast and loose with it you can say WWII never ended, as the Israel/Palestinian conflict has its roots in WWII (or even WWI).

Of course, you could also make a good case that WWII was just an extension of WWI after a lull.

If anyone shoots at the Iranians, that's an act of war. Refusing to sell or give something to someone is not war. (Otherwise I could accuse an ex-girlfriend of war-crimes for not putting out;))

In simpler words, here's the deal: an armed blockade is an act of war. An embargo as in not selling to them is not.

Don't worry, you are much too visible for something like that to happen to you. The government is terrified of the backlash that would certainly ensue should they become suspected of causing you any harm. You are THAT important and notorious.

Canada has not attacked the US.
Canada is not harboring anyone that has attacked the US.
Canada is not funding or assisting anyone that is attacking the US.
Canada is not committing unspeakable human rights abuses against it's own citizens.
Canada has not called for the destruction of another nation state and it's people.
Canada is not currently constructing nuclear weapons to carry out said genocidal threats.
