Mel Gibson 's racist rant

totally random and haven't read the thread but I am surprised to know as the mother of two Arabic sons that Arabs are considered "white" on most race surveys we've had to take. There is a separate category for "White Non Hispanic" and "Hispanic" but no category for Arab, so they are considered white.

So, if we use your figure of including hispanics that identify as white, to the 65% figure, we get;66% of 29,2 million = 19,27 million.
198,9 million + 19,27 million = 218,17 million. 218,17 of 310 million = 70% (roughly, give or take a percentage or two).

50% of 70% is 35%, which translates more or less concistent to what I wrote earlier:
I'd guess about 50% are women, so 32,5% of the US are white females, and if 90% of rape victims are female, and 81% of rape victims are white (the figure probably fluctates depending on year, but let's assume it is somewhat concistent), then from a rough estimate we're looking at 69-71% of rape victims being white females. I.e around 2,18 times their overall represented figure, and while I don't know how people calculate elsewhere, clearly they are not "underrepresented".

Yes, and it has been, for those who consider it to be such, a problem on for example FBI's crime statistics et al. For example, traditionally hispanics is a victim category, but not a seperate offender-category (then, it's counted as white).

This might've changed the past years, but I doubt it, just fyi.

Nope. The actual number for "white only" is 228.2 million. The number of "white only" hispanics is 29 million. And the total is 304 million.

Don't know where you are getting your figures from but it is not that site

When filling out mortgage loan applications I was instructed to make them "Asian".

At the sub-chapter "Race and Ethniticity":

So, the total figure of self-identifying white people is 228,2 million. Indeed, I had missed that distinction was already made, so my calculations subsequently dropped 10 million out of it.
If we are to use the figure of 75% of US americans being white in the broad sense (not 85%), half of which are probably female, and then we get 37,5% white females in the US. So the shifting percentage is negligible here, since we're looking still looking at a rate of 'white' female rape victims that is about twice their representative proportion. Clearly they are not "underrepresented". Wether we include self-identifying white hispanics or not, it doesn't appear to change this noticably.

Maybe it is a conspiracy and Oksana has convinced Mel this kind of talk really gets her "hot." Then when the poor dupe really got into it, she recorded and called the cops!

It could happen . . . You know they stole Mad Max's car and hide it in Area 51, don't you? That'd piss me off!
