Another scary candidate

This is nothing. I know a liberal democrat who carries guns to political rallies, sees vast conspiracies behind the most meaningless everyday occurrences and has violent fantasies about a second american revolution/civil war wherein he kills various political opponents.

You are not paying attention. I pointed out that there are worthless sociopaths forming militia units with the intent of overturning the legitimately elected government, and that citizens need to be ready to put them down like the raving barbarians that they are, for the good of civilization. Their kind grabbed power in one civilized country within the memory of people still living and the results totally sucked. The next time, they could wipe out all of humanity. I will not let them start here other than over my dead body and a few of theirs.

Communists?

I have yet to see a Democrat who has any chance of ever being elected to something go as far over the edge as Robinson, Angle, Brewer or Paul or Caribou Barbie.
Yeah uhh....speaking as an Oregonian, Robinson has exactly zero chance of ever being elected. For one thing, he's a global warming denialist in one of the more environmentally-concerned districts we've got. Even if he wasn't running against the hugely and consistently popular DeFazio.

Nazis and their useful idiots.

Now Neonazis and their useful idiots are trying to do it again here.

I once caught a fish, and it was ttthhiiisss :hug7 big! :D

And what's so extremist about Palin? Her policy positions are pretty mainstream conservative.

Mainstream conservatives, as now defined, are pretty far out on the fringes of sanity. They still think that tax cuts for the fat class are good for working people. Out to freakin' lunch.
The primary complaint against her (other than that she's a conservative) is that she's not qualified, but that's a rather different issue.

She pulled the story that Obama wanted to set up "death panels" to off Granny right out of her underwear. She's nuts.

You're not qualified to judge sanity, lefty.

Nuts? Or just devious and cynical?

Like I said, regardless of what you think about her claim, it worked. The same cannot be said of Kucinich's chemtrails.

Oh, horrors, he scanned in 99 books that a 19th century author wrote, and among them, there is one passage that seems racist to our 21st century sensibilities? Jeez, heaven forfend that anybody should happen to read Huckleberry Finn.

And he thinks that the kids should read all 99 of those books because their moral message is so vital to today's society.

Christian imperialist English 19th Century values.
Okaaaaaay...

He's a Dominionist. That, in and of itself is a threat to American values.

Or anything by H.G. Wells...

lefty

Why has no one mentioned Alvin Greene yet?

And there are also several racist Democrats. In fact, the only nationally elected official to have a history with the Ku Klux Klan was democratic senator Robert Byrd.

Then there's democratic senator Ernest Hollings, a presidential candidate in 1984, who blamed his defeat in the primaries by using a racial slur (wetback) against Hispanics. He also thinks that people in Africa are cannibals.

Greene is a Manchurian Candidate put there by a team of Republicants with money and some good program writers with access to the voting machines.

Bad up-bringing. He quit when he got a better look at the KKK through educated eyes.

He wasn't even an also-ran.

Do you not know deadpan humor when you see it?

Are you being deadpan?

I don't think that was deadpan humor. I think he truly didn't understand how islands are formed.

It would be cute if he were 6. Unfortunately, he's a 56 year old man, and he thinks islands are like boats.

Did you look at any other videos of Johnson before making up your mind?

And then he goes on seamlessly, to address specific environmental concerns. He used the language he did to emphasize that he thought the island was being loaded with far more people and structures than were really a good idea. Just a clever turn of phrase. Makes more sense than the lame-brain McConell whining about "job-killing taxes" on thje top 2% of the fat class to keep working people fed during a jobless recovery.

Except for the apparent joke about capsizing the island, he seemed to be very organized in his thinking. He hit all the important points about why he thought the environmental impact might be pretty serious.

It wasn't a joke. If it had been a joke, Johnson would have said it was a joke, instead of making up excuses (which only those who want to believe ever could) that he was speaking metaphorically.

he seemed to be very organized in his thinking.

No, he seemed dazed and confused, struggling with simple concepts of size and area.
