Can we kill?

"Kill" is a misleading word to use in referring to a cancerous mass. Yes, the cells involved will die, but it is no more relevant to moral or ethical issues that the cells that die every time I menstruate. If the "killing" of cells of my body is an issue, I should probably take a birth control pill that eliminates menstruation altogether.

Once again, cancerous cells are not sentient, not organisms that have an existence separate from someone's body. As another poster mentioned earlier, you may as well be asking if it is reasonable to worry about snot cells and trying to "fix" the conditions that generate, and kill, those.

If cancer cells such as the Hela line are provided with nutrients, they keep dividing and forming new cells, because they lack the "STOP" command.
This is like a computer program stuck in a GOTO loop. Eventually the computer runs out of memory and crashes. In an organism, eventually cancerous cells consume too many resources, create too many waste products, take too much space. The system fails. The organism dies, taking all the cancerous cells with it.[/qyoute]

Does it mean that cancer cells are not gifted with "survival" but gifted with live-long?

That's not the same thing as culturing cells in vitro.

Does it mean that if nutients are available then cancer cell can live for more time? If so, what about life cycle of our non-cancerous cells in vitro?

Viruses can move from body to body, hijacking the body's own systems to produce millions of copies of the virus.
Cancerous cells can't do that, because they have no way to escape the body. When it dies, so do they.
This is why the whole world is not one huge, undifferentiated mass of cancer cells.

Instead, the world is one huge , undifferentiated mass of bacteria and viruses, with some plants and animals for variety.

Suppose if cancer cells are injected in other's body, will they behave in same manner?

Killing and dying are seprate things. When cancer cells are dying it will be their natural death but why cancer treatments that will be killing.

Does it look not bit odd that cancer cells become independent but don't have mind?

These look to be forgotten words:-

"For when the morning breezes blow toward the town at sunrise, if they bring with them mist from marshes and, mingled with the mist, the poisonous breath of creatures of the marshes to be wafted into the bodies of the inhabitants, they will make the site unhealthy"

Forgotten for a good reason, they are nonsense.

... what?

In what way are cancer cells independent? They're totally dependent on the body they're in.

Not forgotten, just not true.

Malaria. Possibly you've heard of it? The name means bad air.

It's not caused by bad air. That's pre-scientific nonsense. It's caused by the Plasmodium parasite, which is carried by mosquitos.

Could you please try to think before posting?

It's a positive thing that they are forgotten, since they are nonsense.
Although it is infernally difficult to figure out just what this thread is about, they also don't appear to be relevant.

Sure. Allowing menstruation to take place is killing as well. Your point?

No, that is natural death. However encouraging it by intervention can be taken as killing.

I am not sure. But I am worried how they are independant without mind? You know, memory is a big problem here.

Then why isn't it killing when I encourage it by failing to take precautions against it? It is preventable by using certain contraceptives. Shouldn't I be trying to prevent it by any means possible? Am I not guilty of murder every single month?

Because mind and memory are both dependent on brain. Cancer cells do not have brains.

Before you say anything, water doesn't have brains or memory either. Homeopathy is bunk.

There can be difference in normal infections & epidemic infection. In later it can/should still be body-controlled but in later it may be germ controlled. Germs can be attracted or owerpower. We might definately be attracting many insects probably due to our bio-instabilities or bio-imbalances.

Prevention by unnatural interventions can be an assualt on nature or a suppression to natural death.

We may have to see it very very deeply to be absolute & final. Without brain/mind, probably nothing can exist. It is different issue, what type of brain/mind?

... what?

In what way are cancer cells independent? They're totally dependent on the body they're in.

Does it mean they still get & follow body signals & got effected by environment of body?

So contraception is killling, or it isn't? After all, cells will die prematurely if I do not use contraception, but other cells will never exist if I do. You can't have it both ways.

We may have to see it very very deeply to be absolute & final. Without brain/mind, probably nothing can exist.

No. The observer effect has nothing to do with existence.

It is different issue, what type of brain/mind?

The type of brain/mind capable of causing even a skeptic to acknowledge its existence.

I do think.

But some specific air or some of our specific biochemical condition can attract mosquitos. Mosquitos don't bite & infect all inspite similar exposure? What make mosquitos to bite & infect one but not to other in same exposure?
