six year old girl on "no-fly" list

Change her name. No, that'd be fraud to avoid something, can't do that.

Well hell, just another reason I'm glad I do not fly.
 
Unbelievable.

That there would be an honest mistake and a person with the same or similar name as a legit suspect would be punished once- ok, that's bad and that shouldn't have happened in the first place but it is somewhat understandable.

That the government would refuse to take her off even after the mistake has been explained, though...to refuse to change it...or even tell her why she's on it anyway...and when it is such an obvious mistake...

Outrageous.
 
I'm with Ausmerican. Those barbies are probably stuffed with c-4 and that whole jumping on the bed thing is just training to plant her explosive barbie at the height that will do the most damage. Never trust anyone over 7. She has obviously been compromised.
 
I'm hoping they start putting crying infants on the no-fly list. That I would support!

Spot on! Don't these people realise how dangerous a sharpened Barbie is when thrown by a well trained 6 year old. Border patrol guards face this threat daily and have been armed with bazookas to fend off the threat and restore their confidence.

Worse than that.
I have used Barbies as pilots in my RC airplanes. No more. Ditzy broad cannot fly--she crashes ever damned one of them.
An informal poll on RCONLINE reveals many people with the same problem.
Maybe sh'e ok as a passenger, but if she approaches the cockpit, you're doomed!
 
Although I'm not 6- or 8-years old, my name is also on some list or another. They won't tell me which list, and so far, I've only had to jump through the hoops once, but it could happen again. (I've been told that they put some sort of notation that the person with my name who lives where I live has been cleared, but the person who told me that told me that it was no guarantee that I would stay permanently "cleared.") What's ironic is that I've been through a background check and have clearance through security at my "home" airport!

I'm still waiting to be stranded at one end of a trip or another. And I always allow the full two hours at the airport, just in case I get caught up in it again.

Put GI Joe in the cockpit. My old man had him (with a bit of a few cosmetic touches to look the part) flying a beautiful SE 5a without misshap as far as I remember.

I don't, like, know what kind of doctor her father is, but if I went to one, and he, like, used the word "like" the same way the 16-year-old cashier at the supermarket does, I'm, like, going to ask to see another doctor.

I don't know what was worse, the poor writing of the article or the poor speaking of the child's father. Never mind the trouble the kid is having.

Is this girl on the list because she happens to have the same name as someone with terrorist links? Why isn't the primary target simply arrested and tried?

I didn't want to nit pick but that is kinda like, you know, tarded. I may abuse the word in regular conversation but if I were being quoted in a news article, I am going to be as bombastic as possible.

Who says the girl's name is on the list because it's also the name of a terrorist?

It could also be that the name is one of possible cover identities, to describe just one scenario.

There may be not be sufficient evidence to hold a trial. The standard of evidence required for a U.S. criminal trial is much higher than the standard of evidence for getting one's name on the no-fly-list. Given that all the details of getting on the list have never been released to the public, it is possible that people who have committed no crime at all have been put on the list. It is only speculation but people might end up on that list if they are related to a terrorist or if they have spoken out against the U.S. government in a manner that someone in a federal security agency finds threatening.

Other reasons are some of the people on the list are foreign nationals and have never entered the U.S. Their names are on the list in case they do come to America. Other people on the list are being targeted by law enforcement but these people have escaped capture up to this point.
