Jewish dance group stoned in Hanover, Germany

You've avoided the full term used in this thread and in the article itself.

The only precedent I wanted to set was the use of the term 'stone' rather than the innocuous 'pebble'. There's no twisting of any sort.

So there's no twisting or anything. Kieselsteine is the same in German and Dutch (albeit slightly different spelling) and the full term should be used over the truncated Swiss version of it. :p

.......... Kies is not the Swiss version.
its just the usually used term for me. and oooohhhh loook, i even used the english word stone in my 2nd condemnation of the stone throwing......

you are worse than the thought police.....

Haha, nice attempt the the Orwellian skit.

If you can't differentiate between the precendent of using the word 'stone' instead of 'pebble' or using the truncated German term for it (avoiding the term 'stein' altogether) and that of condemnations, I don't know how to help this problem you have with superficiality.

Capiche? I hope....

And to the above statement, who is condemning Germany here? Who is playing the victim card? Wow, to what great lengths these nutjobs will go to pigeonhole someone...

:boggled:

what is to condemn about Germany??? it was not Germany that threw stones......

WHAT THE ****?`??????

i especially avoided the term pebble or gravel and used the word stone.......

what would please you?

Germany threw mountains at jewish dancers?

Wow, extra thick today I see. I was stating why, as a saw a response by Parky in someone's quotes, that this would be an opportunity to condemn Germany, which I wholeheartedly disagree with.

Try to re-read a bit before the inevitable knee-jerk response...

when it is so important for you to use the correct terms even in languages you dont even speak yourself.

why are you not uppset about the word Stoned being used?
no body was stoned, some people had stones throwed at them, but nobody died, so no stoning took place, and its also not known if the dancers were stoned, what would be illegal in Germany.

Stick with the term used in the article, not the selective definition of it (applying truncated terms which avoid the term 'stein' or the industrial terms which aren't applicable in normal use of the term).

Stated this before, will state it again.

Has nothing to do with pleasing anybody, simply to phrase the term as it is.

So save the 'wtf's'...

you dont tell me how to use the German, Dutch or Swiss language, and i dont tell you how to use Hebrew, OK?

I speak/read/write Dutch. Guess you missed this the first few times I've mentioned it.

why are you not uppset about the word Stoned being used?
Stone is the standard term, not gravel, not pebble.

Lol, you going to throw a few more cogs into the gears here? Perhaps throw in the term proportionality for good measure.

The no people died or not enough people died defense has worked admirably for you in the past, why not try it again....

Oh no's, can't tell the Swiss to do anything. :D

So no, no to all counts. We can have a discussion of the Hebrew term for stone as well if you wish. I'm not going to take the pompous stance of the Swiss that one can't possibly critisize our terms and its definitions. :p

Gold.

I also can read and speak Dutch, i didnt miss that part, no. But it is clear by now that you do not talk German at all...

what is the meaning of Stoning according to you?

you had maybe a point if you actually spoke that language , which you clearly do not.......

what the heck is wrong with you?
had a bad night?

You did miss it, hence the accusations. Judging by your inability to read my post here where you've jumped to many reckless conclusions, I suggest getting another coffee?

And no, not going to allow you to predictably deflect from the subject. I've stated clearly that the term used in this article should use the more general definition of 'stone' rather than the innocuous 'pebble'. End of story.

when we talk about Israel we are not allowed to use terms like Collective punishment for example, but somehow the same people having troubles with such terms, have no problem the word Stoning being used when it serves them well.........

you are no better than Thunder and co.

you know what?

i will now use other terms.

i condemn the kids that threw those tiny little pebbles at the jewish dancers.

you are such a liar..............

you are correcting my use of the German and swiss language..........
not the Dutch language. so it doesnt even matter if i saw your claim of speaking dutch or not.

Never said you aren't allowed to the use term. Just using legal terms when they're applicable. If you could actually defend the use of such legal terms in the threads where we've had this discussion instead of scurrying off (in Parky fashion I might add) instead of bringing it up in other threads, we could actually get somewhere.

But for the rest, got straw?

Oh yes, and there's only 10 words in this post, the rest is a Swiss optical illusion. :D

Nonesense. I'm using the term 'stone' since it doesn't make judgements on size as pebble does. Yet you seem inclined to use the truncated industrial term of Kies.

For the rest gloss over...
