that was really interesting, though the evidence he had for some of his conclusions seemed pretty weak.

Ah Thunderf00t, how I love thee. I don't understand how a company as big as Viacom would do something this foolish. Sure made them take a hit in terms of public image.

I'll bet that's the reason right there. The arm of Viacom that was in a sue-happy mood didn't really talk to the arm that was doing the guerrilla marketing. I'm sure they realized sometime after the fact, but the ball, or rather the Indiana-Jones-sized-boulder, was already rolling.
After losing they've said they will appeal, of course. Whether they actually do or not, we'll see.....
