*sigh* No, the founding fathers did not revolt over a tea tax...they revolted over being taxed and receiving no representation. Or at the very least that was the reason why they protested the tea tax. In order for this guys analogy to be accurate he'd have to be speaking to a US district that was being taxed but previously had no congressional representative.

How am I expected to believe that this is what the founding fathers would want if so many conservatives and tea-baggers aren't even able to get middle school level history right?

Pretty amazing that this commercial both hearkens back to and criticizes the Founding Fathers for only "going to war over tea."

Between this and those god-awful Charter One commercials, it seems like the Founding Fathers Commercial industry is booming.

I guess Barber doesn't know that the reason that the tea tax was such a major cause was that it was a tax break given to a mega corporation to the disadvantage of mom-and-pop operations.
