Merged Israel Attacks Palestinian Aid Flotilla, According To Reports

Yep, some of those on the Marmara were terrorists and terrorist supporters:

http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3899960,00.html

Who was it here that said that the IDF is backing away from its claim that some of the passengers are linked to al-Qaeda?
DC was it you? Was it you Cleon?

And DC, was it you that said that no terrorists were on board the ship?
If it was you, will you now change your mind about the actions that took place on that ship?
(fat chance ah?)

well when they put forward evidence, sure, sofar your link says, the IDF claims, is accused etc.

The goals of the activists:
1. End the blockade
2. Weapons pour into Gaza
3. Hamas uses weapons against Israel
4. Israel retaliates and invades Gaza
5. Gaza citizens suffer horribly from the attack with disruptions to food, fuel and medicine
6. More reason to hate Israel! And the worse the Gazans suffer, the better because it serves this purpose even better.

What do the supplies carried by the flotilla have to do with "weapons from Iran and Syria to kill Jews"?

The issue never was the supplies on the ships itself, that's mostly junk or things that are not in short supply in Gaza. The issue is bringing enough international pressure on Israel to get them to quit the blockade. Once that happens, Iran and Syria can import weapons to Hamas with impunity.

Some on the far left support this. I'm not saying everyone, but reports are many of those on that ship were loaded with unusually large amounts of cash, more than a million Euros worth. That cash goes to support the Hamas government, to help it make its payroll and keep it in power a little longer.

Meh!

Ken O'Keefe is a peace activist and has been for a long time. He may be a bit off the wall or just plain wrong but anything that claims he is a terrorist is clutching at straws.

Same Ken O'Keefe?

As far as I am concerned, Israel USED to be Palestine.

Just how Gdansk USED to be Danzig, northern Poland used to be Prussia, Kaliningrad USED to be Koenigberg, and Texas USED to be Mexico.

New York USED to be New Amsterdam. Czech Republic USED to be the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Things change. I think we all get the point.

Sweet so the capitol was?

Their money was?
Contributions to society are?
Yea this is not working out to well for you!

Come again...then how are they the government?

Same way Obama is president or Bush wass president. Not everyone votes. So even though they won the election, there were more people who didn't vote or voted against them than people who voted for them.

It's still an incredibly lousy argument, but not for that reason.

correction:
Food aid / pers. / month : Berlin 20.3 kg / Gaza 19.6kg
Total aid / pers. / month: Berlin 83 kg / Gaza 37 kg

Thanks for that DC. Does this affect your opinion on how Israel is handing allowing the aid in? It sort of clinches it for me that they aren't trying to starve the Gazans out.

What? If I shoot someone, and they get to a hospital quickly and don't die, then I didn't use deadly force? :boggled:

Exactly so and if he dies you did use deadly force. The Israeli Palestinian thing might be utterly intractable but that is no reason to re-define English usage. We don't refer to a particular earthquake as deadly if no one died do we?

If you read the links I provided, malnutrition is the problem.

Right. And if you read my previous posts, I did not dispute that and would like those making that argument to ponder why malnutrition is a problem even though they are receiving the same per capita food aid as the Berliners did during the Russian siege.

THE challenge for 20-year-old Ahmed Luqman Talib was to follow the trail of blood.
Blacking out several times as his captors forced him to drag himself up a flight of stairs, pushing and kicking him along the way, the Gold Coast student finally fell through a door leading to the top deck of the Mavi Marmara, the protest ship on which Israeli commandos killed nine foreign activists during a dawn attack last Monday.
The trail of blood led to a ladder, up which he was made to haul himself, to a position from which helicopters were evacuating the injured. But he was given no assistance despite two gunshot wounds in his right leg.

I don't find the above credible.

Despite setting out in late May with an expectation that the flotilla was almost a Mediterranean cruise, the trio has emerged from the experience seemingly fearless.

Given the video we have of the activists proclaiming it was a charge for victory or martyrdom, I cannot believe that they thought this was going to be an uneventful vacation.

This assumes the Berliners didn't struggle. It was only in the latter few months of the siege that the airlift got up to the required daily food target. For many months they were well short and there were considerable deprivations.

Sure struggles are to be expected when you rely on the generosity of foreign donors for your well-being. But was there mass malnutrition in that 15 month period?

I think it is entirely possible that not all activists are the same. I could be mistaken, but I am considering the possibility.
