Please provide evidence that they are banned. Also, what is the reason for these items being banned in the first place?

ask the IDF, they refuse to publish a list of banned goods, they want to decide from case to case.

thus we have to stick to the Israeli group Gusha that went to Israeli court to get the info.

You drew a comparison between Hamas rocket attacks and Israeli settlement building than then complained when it's pointed out the rocket attacks are killing people and settlement building is not.

LMAO, no, nobody has EVER died as a result of settlement building

That's interesting.

I would assume that "effective" means the blockading nation must have a navy capable of enforcing the blockade and not that the legality of the blockade goes away the first time some smuggler gets a rowboat to shore?

No. I'm happy to accept Israel's story and accept that they are beyond reproach, no matter what they do! Just like you!

That's "Gisha", DC.

And we don't. If we can't get reliable official information, that doesn't mean we have to accept the claims of any group that publishes a list based on

information from Palestinian traders and businesspersons, international organizations, and the Palestinian Coordination Committee, all of whom "deduce" what is permitted and what is banned based on their experience requesting permission to bring goods into Gaza and the answers they receive from the Israeli authorities (approved or denied).
They don't show their work, and their criteria is unreliable.

Witnesses report that activists, using nothing but their bodies to protect the bridge from these lawless pirates, were attacked with plastic bullets, electric shocks and beaten up.
Liars report all sorts of things. The fact is that Israel has stopped dozens of ships trying to breach their blockade. And it is Israel's right to do so.

Do you have independent evidence for this claim?
Yes, there are numerous videos showing interviews and other footage where they chant and talk about becoming martyrs.

What do you mean by “carry”?
They prepared in advance, and carried these weapons to prepare for the inevitable boarding.

The crew and pasenegers were legally entitled to defend their boat from being attacked and taken over by heavily armed pirates in international waters.
False. Israel has the right to enforce its blockade. Enforcing the law is not piracy. On the contrary. The pirates here are the ships that tried to violate international law.

Here is an intersting account of the assault on the Mavi Marmara aid ship from Al Jazeera producer Jamal Elshayyal , who was seen broadcasting during the attack before all communications were cut off.
The fact is that the thugs on the last boat attacked first. The Israeli soldiers had taken over dozens of ships, including the five others. It was only on the boat where they were viciously attacked that real violence erupted.

I said the same thing about driving to work, but no one listened to me.

No. I'm happy to accept Israel's story and accept that they are beyond reproach, no matter what they do! Just like you!

You see this quote, bit_pattern? This is not a relevant response to the conversation on the impacts of effectiveness on the legality of blockades.

I see. So you pick some random claim about banned goods and draw conclusions based on that?

And the reason for the ban is...? Please answer that question, or your list is useless.

its funny that now perspective is brought up.
how about perspective when its about a blockade that punishes 1.5 million people for the deeds of one group inside those 1.5 million people.

Funny how you neglect to mention that the "one group" is the government.

Yup. All whitey's on board.

Some of the crew is Malaysian.

Just like how they didn't assault whitey's in the way they assaulted Arabs/Turks on the other ship. Again highlighting Israels inherent racism.
Baseless accusation.

The reason nobody got hurt is because the ship wasn't waiting for the IDF with clubs and knives.

the IDF could solve the problem by releasing a list of banned goods, now we have to stick to things that have been stopped from entering Gaza.

i have so no clue why chocolate and dried fruits are banned. i can understand and even support a ban on rockets and missiles. and i think vinegar can be used in dual use, not sure.

If Israel is so racist, how come they opened the country to black Jews from Africa when the country was founded? In fact, any Jew of any race was free to come there. And one of the bosses of this latest operation is half Chinese.

But hey... Who cares about facts, eh?

Fixed.

I see. So what is the most rational thing to do? To make baseless assumptions about it, or try to figure it out? Or at least admit that there's a reason somewhere you have no clue about?

Beat you to it. :D

Reminder: While I would like Israel to publish a list of actual banned items and their rationale, I haven't seen one from them. The organization that compiles the list uses the criterion that a Palestinian business person, organization, or committee told them they had a shipment of the item turned back. So the list is unreliable itself.
