Merged Israel Attacks Palestinian Aid Flotilla, According To Reports

yes I do think they would...if the deal is no weapons = proceed freely...glad you find it amusing...
I'd really like to see your evidence that the activists would have laid down their weapons. They attacked the Israeli soldiers the instant they landed on the deck.

ETA Maybe I'm misinterpreting you. Are you saying that Israel should have just taken the word of the activists?

The point is, that there is less than enough food allowed into Gaza now to maintain the health of people. There is plenty of food outside Gaza, in Israel itself, but it is not allowed in. The commandos weren't boarding to search the ships for weapons and allow them on their way, but to prevent the food from reaching Gaza at all.
So you claim the people are starving, and yet the ship was loaded with tons of cement?

Hmmm...

And as can clearly be seen in the videos linked to earlier, they did their best to dissuade the Israeli from entering the ships, but these persevered. They could just have, you know, not entered a ship filled with people with pipes and chains and scarves and stools.
That's true. SOP for other navies, US Navy included, would be to fire a few dozen cannon rounds into the stern to disable it and leave it dead in the water.

Of course, anyone in the stern (and you just know that's where the "peace activists" stashed all the women and children and other human shields/useful idiots) gets turned into hamburger but hey, no boarding necessary until they surrender peacefully!

He's talking about the potential for weapons to be brought in if unfettered access to Gaza from the sea was allowed.
Kotatsu et al know this. They like to play stupid, similar to TheFool acting like he doesn't know what "nation" means.

When all else fails, play dumb and ride the merry-go-round of denial one more time.

I'm sure Australians would have just shrugged off daily rocket attacks on its cities. Maybe issue a sternly worded letter or something.
Without doubt. If East Timor was armed by another nation and started to fire missiles at Darwin and "only" kill 22 people, I'm sure we would just do nothing, as Israel is "supposed" to do.....

Why do you keep bringing up this suffering of 1.5 million when this flotilla was carrying 10,000 tons of humanitarian aid of which is transferred on a greater scale on a bi-weekly basis into Gaza by land via Israel?

In addition to the standing offers of both Egypt and Israel to transfer this humanitarian aid that woudl come in via the sea through the appropriate channels?

I find it strange though, instead of carrying those 700-800 people on that one ship, they could've carried another approximately 105,000-120,000 lbs (approx. 150lbs per person) of extra humanitarian aid on that one ship if they truely cared for this suffering.

Lastly, this doesn't answer the inclusion of the Israeli deaths. You're pedaling here, once again.

well i prefer the UN's word above the word of some internet poster i dont know.

If you read the articles I quoted, the aid that Israel allows in is enough to survive on in terms of calories, but not nutrition. The people of Gaza are suffering malnutrition.
I've read the articles. BBC one refers to unemployment which stems from the need for development within Gaza which isn't directly connected to the aid that is let in, albeit its a factor, and for the creation of jobs and infrastructure.

This can be solved if Hamas for one, stops using dual purpose materials for use in weaponry so they can be crossed off the list of items not allowed in via Israel, the agriculture sector is put back up on its feet (which was attempted in 2005 with the unilateral withdrawl of Israel from Gaza leaving and addtionally supplying goods to sustain its agriculural exports), unhindered bilateral trade (also connected to the first point), and the creation of jobs in Gaza. The first article mentions the father who worked in Israel. This can be done again in addition to more jobs in Gaza.

What also should be mentioned and is often omitted is the diverting of humanitarian aid for Gazans by Hamas to their storage warehouses which came to light in the international media as a hiccup whilst its been the practice since Hamas came to power.

Blaming this situation wholeheartedly on Israel's restrictions is completely ignoring what led to this issue in the first place and preventing the situation from getting solved.

So read the articles yourself clearly before avoiding the core issues.

Sorry, but that says more about you than anything else. The UN has a long and infamous history of anti-Israel activity. Google the number of anti-Israel resolutions passed, and compare them to the number passed against other Middle Eastern states. Illuminating.

And, of course, it's easy to completely search a loaded ship at sea! No way could weapons be hidden underneath stuff!

no...thats why the US prevents all ships from entering the US....no way they can guarantee there are no terrorists or weapons on board...ooops. Thats why Australian warships in the gulf wars never stopped, searched ships and allowed them to proceed if nothing was found...They could not guarantee they didn't contain war material so they always turned them back....ooops.

In the end wilcat, your quaint opinions on whats reasonable and the identical views of Israeli governments are not going to prevent the world forming opinions....Bibi is doing his bit to make sure those opinions smell, your help is no doubt appreciated.

Er, post #1418. Look I know it's inconvenient for you to address this, but weapons to be used against Israel have indeed been taken into Gaza by sea. Israel would be negligant if they didn't have a blockade.

You hit your head, we've been through this before. Don't pull a parky.

Construction materials have been delivered. Not all to build those wonderful toys Hamas makes though. And not enough for Hamas to make oodles of money from taking these construction materials and selling them to Gazans

yeah to build anything they need Israels permission.
and all the cement of the ships have already beend delivered by now?

yeah the UN is good to use their laws that alows israel to board a ship, but whne they say the Blockade is not OK, then the UN is demonized.

As i said, both sides. The Australians used to commit atrocities against the Aborginals, even in the 20th century. They weren't even citizens of their own country. We grew up eventually.

If it goes through Israel, sure. Egypt can pick up the slack at any time they wish. But hey, they opened the Rafah crossing the first time in what, over a year and a half for humanitarian reasons.

Aid was already diverted and delivered to Gaza. In usual fashion, you ask questions which have already been answered in this thread several times and are just a simple search away.

Make an effort...

of course...you can point to those that say Israel is supposed to "just do nothing"? Whats the deal...can't tell them to do nothing so must just support whatever the **** they decide to do?

do you think we would slap a total blockade on the Timorese? Kill thousands of them? I think if we went down that path we would be subject to a lot of UN resolutions....just like israel is. This may help you understand why these things happen rather than simply announcing that the UN has a long history of anti-australian activity??

Google anti-Israel vs anti-other Middle Eastern (or Muslim if you wish) resolutions.
