in more news, Israel insanely claims that Iran is trying to send "missiles" to Gaza, and if the world doesn't support Israel's illegal terrorist embargo upon Gaza, Iranian missiles in Gaza will threaten Europe.
Oh yes, as it hasn't been the case in the past. Can you spot the missiles?

And other examples of interceptions by the Israeli navy: “Francop” (2009), “Abu Hasan” (2003), “Santorini” (2001)

Nope, no problems at all. Proliferation includes Lebanon, just so you know.

Do you know where Europe starts and ends?

Oh, they were only beaten, and I don't see any evidence that the journalists were blocking any access to anything. If they beat back then they get shot. Journalists had their notes and equipment taken. What happened to freedom of speech. This is the neccessary result of apartheid.
IDF soldiers were stabbed and shot. This has already been established, but try to make it sound innocuous.

Items were confiscated, sure. What this has to do with freedom of speech is beyond me though. I wouldn't be surprised to see a compilation of footage from Turkish camera crews coming from the IDF within the coming week. And yes, I would trust the IDF in disclosing footage rather than the Islamist supporting IHH and their propaganda ploys.

Another failure at peddling.

I'll ask again, because the responses were deafening last time:rolleyes:. Hands up those who believe that Israel should allow each and every ship to dock in Gaza when this technique was used in the past to land weapons and rockets which were used against Israel?
should Australia allow each and every ship to dock in australia when this technique has been used in the past to smuggle drugs into the country? Yes.....but...., we have systems for restricting drugs and allowing free trade to survive...you tell me why, if these ships contained NOTHING but humanitarian aid....that they should be blanket denied entry....why? I imagine that if the IDF said to them to halt for a while to allow searches and if there is no contraband found they can proceed that this whiole mess would have turned out differently.

If you are saying that its ok to apply hardships on the population of gaza in the process of stopping weapons I don't disagree with you either. Its the extent of those hardships and if those hardships are a reasonable consequence of the restriction of weapons. It seems to me that many think that there should be no restrictions on what Israel can do as soon as the magic words "defending ourselves" are used.

When olmert allowed ships to dock was it the end of Israel??????

I have no problems, none....zip...nil....nada....problems with Israel restricting weapons, searching for weapons....but thats not all they are doing is it.

anyway....the whole world other than israel appears to be of the opinion that this blockade is unacceptable...its time is numbered, it may take bibi a little while to realise it, if he has not already.

How about NOT sending in elite special forces who are trained to react with lethal violence? How about negotiating an outcome like any other liberal Western state would have done?
US coast guard? Canadian coast guard? Russian coast guard? Oh wait, they're all armed. These forces have been used as boarding parties without incident, and even the rest of the flotilla of that day. How about not sending a bunch of lemming jihadi-supporting 'activists' with a slew of these 'laughable' weapons? Hmm.

I would suggest a middle-ground next time of sending a gang of Webelos and Wolf scouts with at least 3 merit badges armed with their American and chinese version of swiss army knives to intercept a wide-variety of ships, from drug smugglers, people smugglers and somali pirates. Throw the dice.

but in Australia the ships geting checked by some officials at the port. well thats a guess on my side. but im pretty sure it is. (Not every ship)

and here i see the problem, we cannot expect Israel to be happy with Hamas searching the ships for illegal imports, like missiles and so fort.
they sure would search for them, but then use them.

i also think its wrong to let 1.5 million people suffer for the missiles from hamas that killed 22 people over the years.

But there is no authority in Gaza that can be trusted to do its job and search for illegal goods. heck in gaza missiles wouldnt even be regarded as illegal.

This just in:

The Israeli supreme court rejected in whole the lefties petitions against the IDF actions in the Turkish Flotilla incidents saying: The soldiers had to retaliate in order to protect their lives and unfortunately the mission ended costing the lives of 9 people and several injured soldiers and Flotilla participants.

The head of the supreme court (Beinish) was in charge of this hearing.

There was a lot more said by Beinish. She lashed at the petitioners for hastily going to court against the IDF without knowing the facts first and already condemning the IDF.

I found the news in Hebrew and it's very difficult for me to translate them but what I've written is the bottom line of that hearing.

Edit: Found this.

We don't know, because Israel still has them in detention. But you can bet that the true story WILL come out and at the moment there is a pretty uniform accounts coming from eye witnesses that have been released that contradicts the IDF chronology.
The IDF chronology was already contradicted when this story broke next to looping IDF footage of the incident with flotilla organizers still sternly claiming that the activists had no aggressive intentions, were unarmed, and did not resist. All this coming from the lovey dovey activists, including 'eye witness reports' from reporters and activists locked in closets and bathrooms, and flotilla organizers who were already towed in Ashdod harbor before the boarding started.

Fancy that.

Sorry bud, but I think I'll wait till AFTER there is a multi-party investigation into the whole mess, before I make a decision.
 So you haven't made a decision up to this point? Just disregarding anything that contradicts the peaceful intention of the activists.

See post #1418.

So Turkish video footage that splashed the media outlets was magically delivered by unicorn express?

Try again.

I believe that there was video taken before/during the boarding and then the cameras were confiscated, but I'm open to correction.

Well then, read through all the pages since yesterday's post, and as far as I can tell, posters here have ceased putting the word 'illegal' in front of various words, ceased using the term 'international waters', 'proportionality'.....oh wait, fallout is still yappning.

So, legal terms? Reference to international maritime law, or we still just making unfounded claims stating the right of any vessel to enter an exclusion zone and run a publicly declared naval blockade?

Fallout?

These Turkish footage was apparently filmed live, but then again, there was the claim that many communication means were blocked, but not too sure if this was only restricted to satellite phones, regular cellular coverage or included a wider spectrum. Either way, I hope all the media was copied prior to them being returned.

We don't want to have another al-Dura affair.

The Fool said:

Your imagination is wild.
You really think those thugs would have let the IDF aboard the ships peacefully?
What a joke.

well when they were offered free acces to the port they headed to, in exchange for the IDF search on the ship, maybe.
it would have been worth a try.

Well there's been one half-hearted and dubious response. Any others? Why should Israel let any ship into Gaza?

the question is if it is appropriate to blockade a State with 1.5 million people to prevent terror that killed 22 people over several years.

The point is, that there is less than enough food allowed into Gaza now to maintain the health of people. There is plenty of food outside Gaza, in Israel itself, but it is not allowed in. The commandos weren't boarding to search the ships for weapons and allow them on their way, but to prevent the food from reaching Gaza at all.

What? Every source I've seen shows over 1,000 Israelis killed by Palestineans (okay, not all from Gaza, but still) since 2000. Where's your source? 22 is a poor attempt at humour.
