They Caught The Times Square Bomber

I thought he was Harrapan...

Probably because he came from Pakistan. You might be surprised at how many people come to America and still self identify with the old country.

This was an interesting note in the news story:

In Pakistan, Interior Minister Rehman Malik said authorities had not been formally asked for help in the probe. "When the request comes, we will cooperate with the U.S. government," he told the AP.

The location of the bomb suggests a number of possible targets. The SUV was parked near offices of Viacom Inc., which owns Comedy Central. The network recently aired an episode of the animated show "South Park" that the group Revolution Muslim had complained insulted the Prophet Muhammad by depicting him in a bear costume.
Wonder if there is a connection ...

Because the "*Teabaggers" will be the people making the accusations tomorrow. Or so my prediction goes.

*Note: I make very little distinction between the GOP and Teabaggers. I agree with Gingrich that the Teabaggers are the "militant wing" of the GOP.

This is kind of funny, since the earlier thread on this topic had one or more people blaming "teabaggers" for doing the bombing in the first place. Didn't Bloomberg guess it was someone unhappy about health care?

And what about the actual suspected terrorist, got nothing to say about him and his crime?

Everything is good to have a go at Teabaggers, even if it's completely unrelated?

I called him a "bomber". Does that help? What should I say?

I hope the got the right guy. If he's the right guy, I hope they give him a fair trial. If he's convicted, I hope he goes away forever.

My thread is about how Teabaggers spin everything as a negative (remember the Somali pirates and how they tried to turn that into something bad for Obama?)

If you'd like to start a thread about how bad this guy is, there's a button at the top for starting your own ---------------->

Right on schedule.

It's like you can pre-mock the Teabaggers.

“I hope that [Attorney General Eric] Holder did discuss this with the intelligence community. If they believe they got enough from him, how much more should they get? Did they Mirandize him? I know he’s an American citizen but still,” King told POLITICO.

"I know he's an American citizen, but still". But still what? He's not a real Amurkin? So we've moved on from the Undiebomber should not be given a normal trial to an American citizen should not be given a normal trial? Or just those kinds of American citizens?

If he wasn't Mirandized, he walks. That would be bad.

PS: your slip is showing.

RE: Unabogie's "Right on schedule...."

Wow. Thanks to the internet, I can see confirmation bias working in REAL TIME!

I have no time for teabaggers myself, but to draw them into a discussion about a failed terrorist attack in NYC? What's next? Tie them into "Dancing With the Stars?"

Only if you think he deserves civil rights.
That was a stupid statement you just made there.

Really stupid.

If you caught the guy who did it, (for the moment let's presume that this guy did it) and he walks due to not being Mirandized, then the guy who did it walking is bad.

Do you understand that concept?

Here's a similar scenario: Charles Manson doesn't get Mirandized, and he walks rather than being tried and convicted for murder.

Do you understand now?

And you are being really dumb her. I was commenting on the part that he walks with out being Mirandized. Sure and you can't hold citizens for years with no charges and no access to lawyers, except of course then you actually do that

Yes you don't pay attention to the right wing political views on who deserves rights and who does not, and enjoy being an ass.

What the hell are you talking about, and what has this to do with this thread, this suspect, and Miranda?

Who thinks he doesn't?

You?

Whatever game you are playing, your standard deliberately obtuse gambit remains inane.

Maybe you were responding to somebody else, and simply chose to hit "quote" on my post.

And John McCain is decrying the Mirandizing of this guy, when he didn't decry the Mirandizing of the Hutaree militia or the guy who murdered Dr. Tiller to appease whom?

Listen, you must be new to American politics. Here we have these people called "political strategists" who operate in predictable ways. When they think they have a winning strategy and use it over and over, you can predict their reactions (and see them play out in real time!)

I was just making my prediction right away (which is proving accurate) before the thing happens so it was on record. If I'm wrong, and the right does NOT turn this into a partisan attack, this thread is here and you can feed me my crow in bite sized chunks.

Who thinks he doesn't?

Likely the same ones who argued against the rights of Jose Padilla when he was held for rather a long time with out charges or access to a lawyer. The same ones arguing against civil rights for the underwear bomber and so on.

There is a faction of the American political discourse that is against giving rights in exactly this kind of situation. If he had been remotely competent it would be even louder.

I see, somebody else, a group of "they" defined within your brain housing group, but you chose to respond to me.

Got it.
