"Draw Mohammed Day" is May 20

I had seen this "Draw Muhammad Day" a few days ago, and my initial reaction was to laugh...

...but I wondered: Would normal Muslims be upset or offended by this? Should we offend/upset the nice ones to instigate the crazies?

I dunno, just a thought. It's weird to me how every day someone finds a new way to depict Jesus, while depicting Muhammad is verboten.

Anyway...

^^ that's my depiction of Muhammad taking a nap. BLASPHEMY!!! :covereyes

If you want to draw Mo' Ham, Ed in color, remember that his beard was dyed with henna, a common practice in his day.

Another popular color was bright blue. Ah, think what might have been.

"Draw Mohammed Day" is May 20. This started as a minor joke by a small-print newspaper journalist that is taking on a life of its own.

As a Marine, an American, and an artist, Comedy Central's censorship of the South Park episodes are triply offensive to me, not to mention the violent rhetoric being produced by those who are inciting retribution.

Is that anything like drawing flies??:confused:??

Enquirer minds want to know!!

I am hugely in favor of this idea. While I am not critical of Comedy Central, I think they did the right thing by electing not to endanger the lives of Parker/Stone/Stewart, as that would surely single them out as targets of violent retribution.

"Draw Mohammed Day" is great because, as the ad says, the pool of targets becomes watered down. That is the entire USA giving them a big **** you.

I call B.S. on this. The group that threatened them are a tiny bunch of Muslim converts that live in NYC!! Comedy Central isn't even caving to terrorists, they're caving to wannabe terrrorists.

Jon Stewart had an amazing bit on this very subject...

I actually considered creating a website called depicttheprophet.com. It would consist of premade little characters in which you could color in and put funny hats on and then label as the profit. There would also be a free draw section where you could draw anything you like and also label it as the prophet. I think the website would be sweet. Here is my depiction:

Perhaps, but smaller groups are also more elusive, and with a few weapons they can be quite dangerous. What if they receive some support from larger fanatical Muslim groups elsewhere?

All it takes is one black market RPG aimed at Jon Stewart's car to set off a public outcry, the people might hold the network responsible for negligence.

How about the Prophet ascending from the Rock of the Mount, right into the path of Jesus returning and on his way down?
