At a Tea Party rally in Chicago on Saturday Rep. Michele Bachmann told a crowd that Bill Clinton wanted to ‘take her out.’ As in, get rid of her because of her “gangster government” description of Barack Obama last week.

Bachmann's very much a idiot, but call her out on her doltish comments, not on something which through willful misconstruing you can make seem stupid.

Yeah. Hence the thread. I don't think she REALLY believes that Clinton would try or even have the resources to try such a thing. But she has to know what resonates with her party base, and what's most likely to rile them up. If you asked her followers what really happened to Vince Foster, what do you think they would say?

Did you really pay attention to the video? Because in the video she is not accusing Clinton of plotting to kill her. Like I said in my earlier post, you have to be willfully misinterpreting what she said to conclude otherwise.

If you asked her followers what really happened to Vince Foster, what do you think they would say?

Most likely "Who's Vince Foster?" But this is sheer diversion. Nobody with half a brain would find what Bachmann said to consist of a murder threat against her. Your supposition that her followers are that dumb is not born out by the video; there is no irate response to the supposed death threat; it is obvious that everybody in the room understands what she meant.

Like I said, I think she's a dolt. But criticisms like this weaken the case.
