Does anyone post to Mythbusters forum?

I recently accessed the show suggestions forum for the Mythbusters program and see that they have a disclaimer concerning 9/11 conspiracy theories. They do not want anyone posting show suggestions for 9/11 conspiracies anymore and I'm wondering what brought this on? I did have a program suggestion that I did want to post concerning conspiracy theories in general. I know they did a show on the Moon Landing and I was interested in their take on the JFK assassination, OKC bombing, and the first WTC bombing. My guess is that there were too many people accessing the board with "9/11 was an inside job" nonsense. Anyway, I'm afraid if I post a suggestion about conspiracy theories, it will get deleted. Anyone else try this?

By the way, I'm a Mythbusters addict!

Take a look at this board. The same topics are re-hashed again and again. I think they've better things to do.

But a casual observer such as myself can see they do, in fact, touch on some of the elements that truthers cling to. For instance, one episode dealt with how much explosives will break up concrete and another debunked thermite.

Probably because the concept is so offensive as not to be filmable.

Or it could be that twoofers decided to bombard the Mythbusters forum with typical messages about how 9/11 was an inside job and there were bombs in the buildings and George Bush orchestrated, yatta yatta yatta...

exactly. Take yourself out of the foxhole we get ourselves in dealing with this truther scum, for just a moment, and you realize to most sane people, even ACKNOWLEDGING, let alone entertaining, the BULLCRAP theories the truthers spew, is OFFENSIVE.

TAM:)

Acknowledging the CT's is offensive to me, and although I am exposed sometimes to Truther viewpoints, it's hard to not be ruder than I am.

Agent Smith has it right.

Given the recent string of truther murders (and the piles of death treats most of us here have recieved over the years), The Mythbusters (and their insurers) are probably hesitant to create unnecessary security risks.

Yes, that is one thing I should have considered! You gotta thank truthers for ruining it all for the rest of us!

Some no-planer made up a story about the MythBusters doing a big episode on 9/11 and I started a thread about it at the MB forum, and yes, it was deleted. This was a couple of years ago. It was a post about a conspiracy theory about Mythbusters, not about 9/11 per se, but it was still deleted. I think someone else from here also posted about it, and that post was deleted too.

The MythBusters aren't stupid, and are probably aware that if they allowed 9/11 CTs to be discussed, they would take over the whole forum... a bit like what happened here in the General Skepticism/Paranormal forum, and also at Bad Astronomy. Truthers aren't exactly known for their acceptance of myths being busted. ;)

It's a sober recognition that 9/11 conspiracy theories attract only a very, very small slice of potential viewers. The few that believe in such idiocy are extremely loud, sure, but there just aren't that many of them. Thank goodness.

Although they have been popping out of the woodwork recently! Why? I don't know!

I used to post there, but got sick and tired of answering a question, only to see the same question get asked over and over and over again every single day. The forum if populated by people to whom the 'search' function is an icon of forbidden knowledge, to never be used lest the wrath of all that is holy rain fire down upon them.

I'm anxious to find out if there will ever be a Mythbusters Movie??!!

There are Mythbuster DVDs. You can even download the latest ones on iTunes.

Oh, believe me, I have downloaded episodes religiously off of iTunes!

As for the new season, having the last few episodes with Jessie Combs hosting was a very sexy treat!

Yeah. I like the way they failed even to cut a SUV in half with hundreds of pounds of thermite. That proves to us that it wouldn't have worked on the WTC towers but truthers would just say that its not sooper nanny thermite so the test is irrelevant.
One thing I would like to see is the section of plane wing into steel replica WTC pillar using the rocket sled. I doubt they would do it as its too close to the events.....maybe in another 20 years.
It still wouldn't silence they the CTers though as we have excellent video of what happens when a Phantom fighter hits a concrete wall and the CTers still deny thats what happened to the 757s wings and tail at the pentagon.
