At the risk of a derail, asking what ' race ' you are, on a census form, is racist ..
Asking for demographic data is racist, now?
Is asking your gender sexist?

I am sure there is a good reason for why this question of race is on the Census and would love to have someone explain it to me.The 2010 Census form lists both "black" and "negro" as choices for "race" on question 9, as well as "African Am.".
There have been problems raised about that.

Yes ..
It would serve no legitimate purpose in the US census, other than to discriminate on the basis of gender..

Wal-Mart management called the incident "unacceptable," and said it's working to make sure nothing like this happens at any other stores.
Washington Township police and the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office are investigating the incident as a possible bias crime."
If you are not aware of how the US census is used to apportion entitlements, I don't have the time to explain it to you..
Whoever did that must have not wanted to work there anymore.
I'd like to commandeer the system and announce specials on products that didn't exist, but sounded good.
In the article they talk about how well spoken and confident the voice was, so clearly it wasn't a WalMart employee.
