Orly Taitz goes to the capital.

The "multi-talented" Orly Taitz is looking to put elected official on her resume. She's running for California Secretary of State.

I foresee some difficulties. For example, the official form for announcing intent to run for office she filed has a couple of errors ...

Secondly, she is not running unopposed in the Republican primary. A man named Damon Dunn is also campaigning for the republican nomination.

She doesn't think much of him:

Why has no one ever thought of this before!?! All you have to do is ask the other guy nicely not to run!

Apparently it didn't work though and Mr Dunn is staying in the race.

So what is Orly going to do? If you guessed "Revert to type and make claims that Dunn is ineligible to run for the office", give yourself a shiny gold star.

Well, it is our entertainment capital. I say elect her. Make a reality show out of it. It could be a new revenue stream for the State.

Honestly, as schizo as California state politics tends to be, she might very well fit right in. Every state has its little in-state political foibles, of course, so I'm not singling out California as being the only bat-crap-crazy state, but as ridiculous as Orly is there's a certain fitting irony to the idea of her holding some kind of office there.
 
You should read the insanity that is her Quo Warranto filing. It really is a work of art, and leaves me wanting to demand the release of all her bar exam records.

The greatest part is when she informs the court that they are employees of the Executive branch. :D

I rarely make it a point to actually promote outside websites, but Badfiction has a great commentary on the insanity of Orly on this one.

Comedy gold, and I swear she will be mentioned in legal textbooks just as an example of what not to do. "Going Orly" will be the way to describe any crazy attorney from now on. It is funny.
 
I'm firmly convinced that Orly is some elaborate practical joke that will be revealed at the proper time.
 
Is there no provision by which an insane attorney can be at least temporarily disbarred so that an ignorant, but innocent man should not mistakenly retain that attorney to his harm?

Would you want Orly defending you in a felony case?

So does anyone know if this complaint holds water? I mean, does the CA Republican Party actually have such a twelve month requirement?

That may well be, but when a practical joke ends up wasting the courts' time, it's well past the point of going too far.

Really, nobody's stoping her from playing comedian on youtube, or releasing her brand of surrealism on DVD, or touring like Eddie Izzard. Or, heck, get a weekly humour column in a newspaper.

But there are certain things that you don't play pranks on/with. You don't call the firefighters as a prank. You don't call an ambulance as a prank. You don't call the cops as a prank. And the courts and judges should IMHO fall in the same category.
