Bigfoot: The Patterson Gimlin Film - Part 3

Longtabber pe, you are a military and martial arts fraud, don't try and threaten others with 'octagon' crap or you will regret it.

Claims for Roger being broke and spending all of his money back into searching for squatch or the Yeti (which he was actually paid for doing) were put forward to discredit the motive behind the hoax, making money. Claims of Gimlin not making any money could very well have been for the same reason, why not come forward if he hasn't made any money?

The big question should be why would he make any money off of it? He didn't make the suit, he didn't rent the camera or pay for the film, he didn't film it, really the only reason for him is to have a witness and to keep him quiet.

Roger might have been in remission, but he was dying. All accounts say he pulled off this hoax because he wanted to leave something for his family. Gimlin was his friend, this very well could be enough to keep him quiet.

About this person who saw P&G going to the site, I'd like to see a source for this and learn more about it.

I've never seen you and Kitakaze in the same place.

I have. Often...

True.

BTW - welcome to the JREF BM! :)

It was my pleasure to read your posts and debate issues with you on the BFF and I look forward to your participation here.
Wow, where are my manners?

Very glad you decloaked, Monk, and welcome to the JREF.:)

How does it feel to have that new poster smell? I never registered an account at the BFF, but I was a regular reader of the BFF for years before coming here. We got you, Volsquatch, wolftrax, rockinkt, RayG... it's nice to have some BFF old guard here. I do not read the BFF even a fraction of what I used to and wow! are there some idiots there now.

Hope you stick around.

What exactly are you up to?

I don't know about rock, but I've been into the shennanigans again.

Oh he regrets it already - he was taken out back and we blistered his hiney. Well that and he can only eat through a straw now and can't remember which 'handed' he is. He's been slowed to a crawl, literally. NOW can we get back to the serious business of Bigfoot Discussion™...mister?

Anyone seen this 'PGF Hoax?' page from the BFRO? I pretty much keep up with this thread and don't remember seeing it. Have to give Moneymaker credit for its seeming comprehensiveness. So much so I think that it has the unintended consequence of better confirming doubt than belief. Or maybe that is its intent?

I definitely don't remember seeing that TV magazine's story on Bob Heironimous. While I've believed it's 'possible' he was the actual guy in the suit...but like wow, what a maroon! Now (I think) I believe HE IS the actual guy in the suit. It seems he acts exactly how a guy who was 'the actual guy' in the suit would act 35 years later. That is, he acted just like that 35 years ago and a clever Patterson surely saw it and exploited it. He was smart enough to know that his Bigfoot being 'dim witted' could probably only help him. :eye-poppi

ETA: 35 years ago, 40 years ago, 43 years, whatever. All the same. '35 years ago' was a reference in that story. And I'm glad to see Kitakaze back on the scent. I have consciously missed seeing him posting lately. :)

.
Yeah -- and who has to clean it up?

"Oh, don't worry, TSR will take care of it"

grumble grumble chocolate all over the sheets -- and where are *my* repeated assurances?

No that's okay kit: look, my elbows can go to this angle -- and I don't have to wear the diaper under......

There is a new 2 hour radio interview with Bob Gimlin that was broadcast yesterday. The hosts (Minnesota Bigfoot Research Team) are close to terrible but Bob does say quite a bit about the Patty encounter and things surrounding the event. It would be nice if someone would transcribe this because there are things that skeptics would find interesting and of some significance. The show can be heard here.

I'm just listening to the show now. I'm only 12 minutes in and already I want to jab some chopsticks in my ears. Of all the Bigfoot internet radio shows I've heard, this has to be one of the most poorly done. Sweet Zombie Jesus, what a chimp Elusive 1 (host) is. Just after the 11:00 minute mark...

"Let's umm... jump ahead to that day 1967 on October 20th if you don't mind. You guys were just basically umm... going through the creek there and you know, Roger was filming for that documentary DVD he was making."

BIGFOOT BOOKS: What was your feeling about Roger when meeting him, as far as his character and his honesty, or his sense of humor, or whatever you want to say about him?

AL HODGSON: I never seen a bad side to him at all. That’s not to say that he wouldn’t be the guy that would, might have a good time with a joke sometimes. Most of us would. But serious things like that [Bigfoot], I’d say NO. I don’t think he would have, or from what I seen…

AL HODGSON: Anyway, it was, now, I never had any reason to think that Roger was not up and above board. Now that doesn’t mean that I know it all either…

About RP coming down to NoCal said:
BIGFOOT BOOKS: He was down here how many times, like before the film? Do you remember?

AL HODGSON: I can’t remember.

BIGFOOT BOOKS: It’s several?

AL HODGSON: Yeah, several.

Excerpt from Siskiyou County Sheriff Charlie Edson's book: My Travels with Bigfoot, a true life Odyssey

It wasn't sheer coincidence that Red and I happened to be tracking in that area that day we accidentally saw Patterson and Gimlin go galloping past of on horseback. Of course, at the time we didn't know who the hell those guys were or what they were up too. We only knew we didn't care to get involved in any kind of social chitchat; not have to explain what we were doing in the area. We just squatted down and hid behind some underbrush until they rode past us. When we saw they were lugging a lot of equipment with them on a packhorse, I guess we just figured they were timber surveyors. Either that or gold miners as there had been a lot of prospecting for gold in that area in recent months.

It wasn't until later that we found out it was only about a half hour after we spotted them that they must have spotted that female Bigfoot and gotten their historical 16mm film.

Holy Bigfoot Batman!

My god, dont you folks know a fuzzy clown when you see one. Bigfoot Smigfoot what a bunch of carap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, WTF was Homer's post really about? Or is it WYSIWYG?

I'm not sure if I should be proud or embarrassed it took me approximately 7 seconds to decipher "what you see is what you get," but yes, that is what that was. I would guess mtn.homer will descend upon a homeopathy or Sylvia Browne thread sometime in August with another real zinger only six months in the making.

FYI, carap is one of the comon names for the South American mahogany tree, carapa. It's true...
