And why the heck is he using a Dutch flag, and a US flag with 48 states, on his letterhead on page 67, 88, etc?
 
John McCain is being opposed by a birther for his senate seat.

J.D. Hayworth(R) claims he wants Obama to produce the longform not because he belives he was born in Kenya, but because he's concerned about identity theft, citing an incident in 2000 where someone with a fake id ran for Scottsdale city council.

This has me thinking of some completely out there candidate stealing an identity so he/she can run for office and completley slander his/her opponent, then dissapear after the election before the legal doo-doo hits the fan.

Then reappear next election cycle in another state doing the same. Its like Forum Sock-puppetry but in real life.

Hawaii doesn't offer a long form. What they offer is the short form that has already been seen. So no, President Obama cannot provide the long form; more importantly is that the long form itself (based upon other state's long forms) wouldn't provide the supplementary stuff that the birthers are demanding.

It is irrelevent...the documents that Hawaii supplies and that Obama has provided is completely dispositive that Obama was born IN Hawaii. It is the only document that Hawaii issues. It is accepted for all legal purposes ... from civil to criminal...from getting a US passport to qualifying for state benefits. It is the same documentation that any and every citizen from Hawaii would get if they requested a copy of their birth certificate.

It is, in all ways and manners, a completely legally sufficient document to prove that Obama was born in Hawaii. And, when you combine it with other proofs...such as contemporaneous birth announcements in the newspaper...it is a complete slam dunk...

Nope.

If he could, don't you think the internet would be full of Hawaiian Birthers saying "look, I got the Dept. of Health to give ME my long form birth certificate, why can't Obama??" The only long-form Hawaiian birth certificates you can find are the ones that were issued to people's parents at the time of the birth.

ETA: Of course, even if Hawaii did allow people to get "long form" birth certificates (which they don't), there is absolutely no reason at all why Obama should release it. The COLB contains all the pertinent information.

Even more importantly, the "LONG FORM' that was filled out years ago, and was stopped being used in hospitals and the Department of Health, is no longer a VALID document.

so even if Obama provided a "long form", its not even a legally binding certificate of birth.


BTW, the long form was done away with in the late 70's/early 80's (I can't remember because I DID have a long form, but it was lost years ago); and they've only used the Short form for anyone asking for a copy of their birth record (even before they went digital in 2000)

IIRC, Hokulele is an East Coast native, so that means WE (those of us born in Hawaii but who can't prove it and are therefore not US citizens; thereby making Hawaii an independent nation) can.



'Course I don't plan on being _anywhere_ nearby if someone tries.

I hate it when I get the spells wrong. The Lesser Demon of Fines can hurt you financially and the Greater Demon of Incarceration can take possession of your body if you say the Words of Power wrong.

Yup, so that being, why am I paying US Taxes then? because by birther standards, Im not an american, so why am I following american laws?
