Merged Has this structural engineer been debunked? / Astaneh-Asl "melting of girders"

The steel floor deck is actually more like 0.03" thick.

You will agree that the actual figure is difficult to obtain ? For some reason it has not been disseminated by NIST.

Still, we know that hundreds of tons of concrete were poured into each of the +-/ 47 floorpans that there were on each floor. So are you willing to hold with your assertion that the wall thickness of the steel in the floorpans was three-one hundredths of an inch ?

0.03'' = 0.762 millimeters. That's about half as thin as the aluminium in the fuselage of a 767. Why didn't they just use tinfoil like you and Dave use for your hats ? lol

I think I told you about that too. But have it your own way.
You told me about your fantasy: a glassy hollow structure that resisted the collapse yet turned into dust afterwards. That's not based in reality. And you supported your fantasy with links stating that you were wrong.

I can only lead the horse to the water. I can't make him drink. That's his own choice.

Truthers really do have an imagination don't they?

1: Explosives, Controlled Demolitions

2: Thermite, thermate, super-thermite, nano-thermite, painted on nano-thermite

3: Directed Energy Weapons

4: 2" solid steel turning to dust

5: Missiles & pods

6: Fly-overs

7: R/C Aiplanes

8: Molten Steel

9: Pyroclastic Flows

10: Planting evidence

Anything else I might have forgotten!

Anyways, it sounds like something straight out of a James Bond movie. Maybe it's just a coincidence that MI6 was involved & had their double O agents doing what's listed? Maybe the Truthers are watching too many movies that they project what they see on film is "real".

Solid concrete core.

3" rebar on 4' centers. Or maybe the other way around, I forget.....

22 gauge metal deck is 0.03125 inches thick. Even 16 gauge metal deck is only 0.0625 inches thick. Here is a typical supplier for metal decking used for composite floor slabs:

Oh the wonders of modern technology. ;)

Do you EVER research anything, Bill, or do you just make it all up in your head?

Wow do they make floor pans from the metal decking then and pour a few hundred tons of concrete into it ? Strong stuff eh ? Only half as thick as the aluminium in the fuselage of a 767. About the same as a razor blade I guess.

Also that the Towers were solid all the way through where noone would ever get inside to work.

Not to mention the secret stealth ninjas working in the elevator shafts. Now that 1's a real kicker!

Metal decking and "floor pans" are the same thing. It's corrugated (wavy) to make it stronger. A razor blade is thiner (about .008"-.010").

If it's anything like the floor pours I've seen the metal deck is supported by temporary braces while the concrete is poured.Once the concrete has set the braces can be removed and you can brace the next floor ready for its pour.
