Dan Brown and his Da Vinci Code sold millions of copies too. Does that make his fiction true?

I claim to have met Luke Skywalker on the road Mos Eisley.

Now what?

Nominated!

Every hundred years or so I check in with this thread to see if any evidence has yet been posted. I'm still waiting.

You'll never see any evidence for why we know the New Testament writers told the truth, but the rest of the stuff is pretty cool.

Just wait 'til you see the musical - DOC and The New Trombonists.

Paul was Chairman Mao's co-author? Who knew?

I'm glad you realize his book was fiction, But people like Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama don't believe the bible is fiction.

All Paul says himself is that Jesus APPEARED to him - i.e. in a VISION.

"Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me."

Paul had a VISION of Jesus.
So what?

The word vision is your word not the Bible's when referring to Paul. And the bible says in Acts 22:9

"And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me."

If it was a vision other people would not be seeing a light that made them afraid. And Pax and Hok don't talk about different verses having different accounts. I've already shown there is no discrepancy in a past post.

So do other millions of people. It still doesn't make it true. The Muslims claim their Qu'ran is true as well.

They both can't be right -- The law of Non Contradiction.

ETA: And yes I know one doesn't have to be right, I was just making a point.

If someone says the bible says something and it does not, and I point that out, that has nothing to do with circular reasoning.

YOU are going to lecture US on the rules of logic and debate?

My sides, they are to split.

I go down to Speaker's Corner I'm thunderstruck

they got free speech, tourists, police in trucks

two men say they're Jesus one of them must be wrong

there's a protest singer singing a protest song - he says

'they wanna have a war to keep us on our knees

they wanna have a war to keep their factories

they wanna have a war to stop us buying Japanese

they wanna have a war to stop Industrial Disease'.

- Dire Straits

In that case the Muslims must be right as they have more people willing to kill themselves for their faith.
Their sincerity is real just like the people who believed in Hitler were sincere. That has no relation to it being the ultimate truth.

ETA: Although I believe there is power and truth in even a partial knowledge of God which I believe the Muslim religion has -- I just don't believe they have the complete revelation of God that Christianity offers. I think this could be one of the reasons there has been so much suffering in the Muslim world.

Since I'm probably on DOC's ignore list, I'll ask if somone who he can see ask by proxy:

How about Hypaitia of Alexandria?

I don't have an ignore list, not yet anyway.

I said within 300 years of the beginning of Christianity. She was born around 350 ad.
