ok, what is up with all these Conservatives who simply REFUSE to see or admit..what the rest of the world seems to understand about Sarah Palin?

#1. she has a great lack of knowledge of world history and current political events and dynamics.

#2. she has a great lack of historical and political sophistication....in terms of awareness of constitutional issues, major legal precedents, and the intentions of our Founding Fathers.

#3. she MAY....be a denier of the Theory of Evolution and the common descent of all animals on Earth.

#4. she MAY...be a denier of AGW.

#5. her speaking, memorization, and debating skills...are horrendous.

Democrats are aware of this. Most news people are aware of this. Most folks in the industrialized world..are aware of this.

So...why do Conservatives have their heads in the sand..about Sarah Palin?

Is it because they actually disagree with this assessment...and actually believe that she is a competent, articulate, knowledgeable, sophisticated, and learned candidate for higher Federal office??

or...do they simply feel that her passion and media appearance, makes her qualified, regardless of all the very important things that she is missing?

or..do they simply think that no one has stepped up..so it might as well be her?

I just...don't...get it. :(

You left off:

6. She's corrupt, in an insipid, small-town sort of way

7. She's a serial liar (not necessarily a disqualifier for political office).

8. She apparently believes that end times is coming (and that Alaska will be a special place of refuge during end times).

9. She's a quitter.

She MAY be a Martian also.
While this might help explain things (;)) it's unfortunately off the mark. You see, there's evidence for the items that parky76 qualified -- enough evidence that it's not unreasonable to assume them to be true.

good point. all the more reason to question why Conservatives don't push for a more sophisticated candidate.

being country folk and cute is one thing for Mayor...even Congressman.

but President??? no freaking way.

Stranger things have happened.

Dr. Emmett Brown: Then tell me, "Future Boy", who's President in the United States in 1985?
Marty McFly: Ronald Reagan.
Dr. Emmett Brown: Ronald Reagan? The actor?
[chuckles in disbelief]
Dr. Emmett Brown: Then who's VICE-President? Jerry Lewis?
[rushing out and down a hill toward his laboratory]
Dr. Emmett Brown: I suppose Jane Wyman is the First Lady!
Marty McFly: [following Doc] Whoa! Wait! Doc!
Dr. Emmett Brown: And Jack Benny is Secretary of the Treasury.

Bat-crazy stuff. I wonder if god mentioned something like "Alaska", if Behemoth wasn't a grizzly bear. :D

Leaving aside some charges that I take issue with, you might want to know that a lot of people think she's fine where she is right now - rallying the troops. I'm fine with her in that capacity. (However, you, and a number of other people here, assume what the conservative online base is thinking. This is somewhat troublesome.)

There is no natural law that declares Sarah Palin wins any Republican presidential primary. She will be weighed and tested on her policy proposals, electability, and any other measures if the time comes, just like any other candidate.

i pray, that you are right.

if Obama is gonna be unseated by a GOPer, let it at least be by someone who is qualified and sophisticated.

As an attempt at assurance, consider the reasons McCain won over Huckabee.

She MAY be a Martian also.

We can't discount the possibility. Furthermore, she has REFUSED!! to release her birth certificate. This is a legitimate question that needs to be answered.

There is still that faction who would like to see her become president, and they show total disdain for those of us who point out what an abysmal dunce she is.

"Nobody can be that stupid," they insist.

Ermm...sadly...

If the bar is Obama himself, Palin clears it. As does pretty much anybody I can think of.
Barry sets the bar pretty low.

Thank God. So far, the "sophisticated" Obama's policies crash and burn one after the other, and his anti-terror policies, for instance, after lots of posturing, is in fact more and more copying the "idiot" Bush's own -- from not closing Gitmo to not leaving Iraq.

"Sophistication" -- meaning, de facto, "agrees with my left-leaning views, the only views for an intelligent person" -- is, in this context, a recipe for disaster, unless one wakes up early and goes back to the knuckle-draggers' "unsophisticated" policies, which, despite their total lack of sophistication, have the rather large advantage of fitting with reality.

You know, the sort of thing that exists outside the faculty lounge and the newspapers' columnists' favorite restaurant.

Do you think that's how she became the GOP VP candidate?
