Hi guys!

A bit of background first... I'm an ex-UFO buff turned skeptic. Why did I turn around? Not by looking up debunking sites or books, rather, I found the evidence lacking and the ET proponents, well, deluded at best and dirty shysters at worst.

One of the last bits of pro-ET material I viewed when I was a believer, was Steven Greer's Disclosure Project... well he tipped me right off the fence and into non-believer land. I just instantly got the creeps from the guy and was utterly unconvinced of his waving bits of paper with blanked out sections. By then most of my belief was pretty much eroded anyway, he just finished that off for me.

I've got a good friend who is just obsessed with this guy! I've not had the heart to try pop his balloon just yet, I'm still gathering info on him. I don't think I'll totally get through to him, he still thinks David Icke is worth listening to! But I've got to start somewhere.

So, where's the dirt on this guy? So far I've found http://home.comcast.net/~tprinty/UFO/disclosure.htm extremely useful.

I went digging to find out just how much of a "doctor" he really is... well, according to vahealthprovider.com his field is osteopathy

Recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties, Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists and Boards of Certification, the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry, or Council on Podiatric Medical Education.

Looks like his license expires 6/30/2010, can he still call himself "Doctor" after this???

In the US, Osteopaths generally undergo serious medical training. I would suspect his license can be renewed, assuming he is continuing to take the necessary continuing education courses.

Oh, and for those not familiar with Greer...

The Disclosure Project is a nonprofit research project working to fully disclose the facts about UFOs, extraterrestrial intelligence, and classified advanced energy and propulsion systems. We have over 400 government, military, and intelligence community witnesses testifying to their direct, personal, first hand experience with UFOs, ETs, ET technology, and the cover-up that keeps this information secret.

He does seem to be developing a following, however, how long for is difficult to guess. The Disclosure Project seemed a very altruistic movement but really did not say anything apart from loads of people stating that they would explain their own UFO experience under oath - great!

But now he is selling some very weird courses at $4K a pop. I saw a video recently, I think You Tube, where he had a group of "converts" who had reached, after his course, some abilities in calling up UFOs.

The scenario was that he would shine a laser at various points stating, "there is one", and sure enough, a (similar) light would shine back. The group comprised of OAPs it seemed to me, and when Greer was recounting the evening he made statements like - ".... and unfortunately we did not film the UFO that was only some 100 metres behind us - but it was huge" etc. I am sure you get the picture.

His campaign seems very much web-based – I could be wrong not receiving US channels here, but have yet to see anything in papers or TV here in the UK.

whats happened to Bob Lazar lately, has he been completely shown to be a criminal fraudster yet ?

Steven Greer is one of my favorite woo-woos.

He first got my attention in 1997 when he called on the US congress to censure the Hollywood movie industry for making films like Independence Day, which unfairly portrayed extraterrestrials as hostile invaders.

What a silly woo.

This is the press coverage section of his site

I've just clicked through all of those sites. There is a whole swag of links that look like real websites with different graphics, logos and layouts, but when you take a closer look, they start with start with www.disclosureproject.org ;)

There's an incredible amount of broken links, and the rest of the stuff that works is a great big steaming pile of woo.

Methinx fans of this goon don't bother to look into this stuff.

Due to the current push for the "Denver Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission" in Denver. We have had the chance to research Greer. He has started or become part of more woo-woo nonsense than most others in the field. He is a huge proponent of Government coverups and "Free-energy".
He has also made claims that he had an "Alien Baby" in his possession, but later stated that it was only a video that he had seen.
At one point he even claimed that when Neil Armstrong first stepped onto the moon he was "surrounded by alien spacecraft".
This man is also hosting what breaks down to be a telepathy to communicate with ET seminar that costs $999.00 for a week. The non-disclosure agreements and cult like appearance of this "field work" is frightening.

On a side note.. Bob Lazar is still quietly in the background, but our local guy (Stan Romanek) has once again claimed that he discovered element 115, when we all know that Bob Lazar made that claim in the 80's after he had read an article in Scientific American magazine. But then just before Romanek was about to claim this discovery, element 115 was featured on the sci-fi show 7 days.

A little research on these people is frustrating and very informative.

Today while I was responding to Jeff Peckman about the ET Commission, I found this quote from Greer that he is starting to use:
"...we have a member of our team who had worked at the patent office and had personally seen that there were several thousand patents that had been sequestered away, and illegally classified, that dealt with these sort of technologies [clean energy], because someone who had a vested interest in the conventional oil, gas and coal energy sector didn't want the public to have them." - Dr. Steven Greer

A D.O. is a legitimate doctorate and he passed his boards so its nothing to sneeze at. He has every right to call himself a "doctor." The DOs, as with MDs, go through very difficult requirements and then have to pass the COMLEX to practice. Passing the boards, or not, doesn't take anyway from the degree, which is the basis for calling oneself a "doctor." He can just renew his license before it expires and he can still practice medicine. If he doesn't renew or fails, he still has a doctorate and is a "doctor."

More on the MD and DO differences here.

But having a doctorate in one field doesn't mean someone's correct in other fields. Remember John Mack, the Harvard professor, who said children who have "unexplained" scrapes on their knees are proof for UFO adbuctions?

whats happened to Bob Lazar lately, has he been completely shown to be a criminal fraudster yet ?

I thought Stan Friedman did that years ago?

Assuming there are aliens i am sure they have the same types of movies on their planet. I am sure they would get here and have a good laugh.

The robot horror film from futurama comes to mind.

We have a couple of DOs in the practice that I work for. They are held to the same licensing and continuing education requirements as MDs, and take the same exams (USMLA or ECFMG and specialty boards).

Oh surprise surprise! You must donate to get access to the witness testimonials! *shock*
So Greer isn't really a big fan of full and free disclosure then... go figure.

Didn't I read that even Edgar Mitchel has distanced himself from the Disclosure Project?
And isn't Bob Dean involved in it somehow?... he's a conman.

Oh dear, I knew Mitchell was pro-UFO. I remember that from the book "Moondust: In Search of the Men Who Fell to Earth" - an amazing book. The author talks to the 12 men who traveled to the moon and returned safely.

I was not aware that he was involved with Greer in any way - though I may have just forgotten that if I'd glazed over it watching the Greer seminar a few years ago.

Every new revelation he has is just another carrot on a stick to buy more of his dreck.

I found this, which is from Rense.com, so perhaps should be taken with a pinch of salt, but it's interesting nonetheless, especially the part I've bolded:

Edgar Mitchell said:
Jack, et al: The Washington Times (story) on UFO disclosure mentions my name as a witness for the Disclosure Project -- which I am not ...and have not been.

---

I cooperated with Steve Greer some years ago, but he began to overreach his data continuously, necessitating a withdrawal by myself, and, I believe, several others. I have requested to be removed from any web site, announcements, etc., but see that has not taken place.

---

I, nor any crew I was on (I was on three Apollo crews), received any briefing before or after flights on UFO events, saw anything in space suggesting UFOs or structures on the moon, etc. We did it just like we said in official reports. My only claim to knowledge of these events is from the individuals, mostly of yesteryear, who were in government, intelligence, or military; were there, saw what they saw, and now believe it should be made public. But I claim no first hand knowledge, nor have any. Pass it on to the rest of the net, if you will.

--Edgar Mitchell

yes, I think that's the same story I read... certainly the same jist, though I don't think I saw it originally on Rense.

Interestingly I looked into Jason Leigh who is the guy complaining about Greer stealing his UFO video and had a quick scout around to see if there was a copy online anywhere... I didn't find it, which seems to contradict Leigh's claim that he has tried to share it with the world for free.
There is a still from it on his website:

Hands up who thinks it's a street lamp behind a building?
Has anyone seen the actual footage?

Sorry to bump this thread, but no that we're entering the "UFO's Are Real" phase of the post-UAP uproar, Dr. Greer is now front and center of all things woo. The Skeptic world has been caught flat-footed, and we need to play serious catch-up.

This is the man himself, and while this is long, he lays out the whole enchilada:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSLm__BUnmI

In this video he goes full-secret government, deep-black project. Shawn Ryan is a former Navy SEAL. The fact that Greer is on his show gives me pause.

The episode breakdown follows:

00:00 - Introduction
04:20 - Project making contact
10:10 - Realizing The Game Being Played
25:09 - Legal Mechanism for Disclosure
33:29 - Energy Field
40:06 - Extending the Data Point
52:08 - Going Public - Hiding Technology
1:05:06 - Project Mockingbird
1:09:30 - Media Purge of Whistleblowers
1:15:07 - New Documentary
1:21:10 - Assassinations, Suppression, Man Who Invented the Hydracar
1:32:58 - Methods For Getting Information Out
1:40:26 - Where are the Whistleblowers Coming From?
1:44:03 - Army Air Base Encounter
1:51:14 - JFK/ Marilyn Monroe
2:02:22 - Quantum of Thought
2:06:37 - Chinese Communications Through String Theory
2:13:54 - CE5 Remote Viewing

You guys see the problem here, right? If this was just UFO/UAP stuff it would fine, but he clearly drifts into urban legend, CT woo, with psychic crap thrown in.

And I'm seeing this all over. Since the UAP thing broke, the BS filters are gone, and all kinds of things are being reported as true without any fact checking, or critical thought.

I'm halfway through the above video. If nothing else it serves as a CT Master Plan primer for those who wonder how this mindset works.

He's all over the place. Nickola Tesla/Free Energy/Zero-Point Energy/Antigravity technology/global cabal to keep alien tech away from the masses.

Wow.
