Today, I tried to register at Rapture Ready from three different computers and each time I got an error message: "Sorry, registration has been disabled by the administrator."

I wasn't going there to cause trouble, I just wanted to ask a question.

Any advice on how to register?

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
ETA: looking at the board's statistics, I noticed that one person did actually register today.

I'm guessing neither prayers nor their captcha system is very good at keeping spammers out.

Are you entering from a link from another site? They can pick up on that and stop the parts of a group flooding in to troll that use a link off wherever they were gathered before, instead of just typing in the url or coming off a search engine.

I came off a search engine. I tried clicking on the "contact us" link and got a message saying e-mail has been disabled. I thought that they might be looking for JREF cookies, so I cleared all those out and still had the problem.

I get the same message.

What I remember is that your registration needed to be approved of before you could post. Took a few days. What might be the case here is that the registration was turned off a few days ago, and that between then and now the person(s) you noticed as new members were only approved of.

Maybe they met their quota :)

I bet the donation link works though :)

actually, maybe try just copying and pasting the email address? sorry to sound too simplistic if you already tried that ...

What e-mail address are you talking about? There is a link for registering and there is a link for contacting them, but I cannot find an e-mail address for either of those.

I made the mistake of going over to RR and reading some of the threads. :jaw-dropp My brain needs a reboot.

I've never used the site and don't want to but I have heard things about how to succeed to get through.

Access the site through google and give a US-based email address.
And give a name that you haven't used before on the internet that sounds worshippy. :)
And at particular hours, they might not accept new registrations. Do it when it's daytime in the US.

Holy friggin' Jesus.

Have you considered that the administrators are no longer available? Maybe they were right.

I can't even get to the page where I enter anything about myself.

I agree. I already set up a sub account with that that name.

Two attempts were during the day.

:D:D:D:D

Buncha desks with empty, discarded clothes and shoes everywhere... boy, do I feel sheepish.

FYI, cookies for one site are not available to any other site, unless there's a serious bug in your web browser. Actually, there was a bug like that in IE a few years ago but it got widespread notoriety and it hasn't happened again.

These are the ones I saw on the front page:

Email Contacts

Todd Strandberg – Fearless leader and founder of RR todd1@raptureready.com

Terry James – The "general" editor and cat lover. As a gifted speaker, Terry does most of the site's media interviews.

Apparently their computer can tell you aren't ready for the rapture yet. It's amazing what modern Captcha can do. Come back and try registering again when you've achieved a state of grace?

The registration seems to be working again. I just tried, and instead of the "administrator has turned off ..." I now get the proper registration process.

I'd love to start a thread over there titled "Halleluiah! It Happened!" Then talk about how a dozen of your christian friends have disappeared and all that was left was their clothes. Make the nuts at RR think they've been left behind.
