Ancient Pyramids and other structures, astronomical alignment & similarity.

I typed "carbon date giza plateau" in my favorite search engine and it was the second on the list.

Trivially easy. Didn't KotA use the word "research" in one of his posts?

well if was researching from pseudo history sources then he wouldnt have heard of it, because pseudo historians don't tend to mention the evidence that shows theyre talking crap
;)

I have noticed that KotA, does tend to start off talking crap about history and other subjects based on what hes researched himself. Its clear he only got into it in the first place to support his "belief" that Aliens had always been visiting earth, problem there is that even though thats a common pseudo history claim, there arent any credible sources that prove it. So you have to start reading orthodox material and when you do that you find it less and less supported by the real facts. We saw how he now understands that the Nephilim were not biblical giants when the evidence was laid out simply for him so that he could no longer persist in a self imposed fantasy. I think hes going through the same process here. I don't expect that he'll give up on ancient world aliens soon as he has too much vested interest in that, but he might learn a little of the truth in the process, and thats never a bad thing

I wondered why the carbon 14 in old wood should deteriorate faster than the stuff in the atmosphere. It doesn't but the carbon 14 in the atmosphere is replenished constantly through cosmic radiation.
That gives the measurable difference.

all living things lose carbon when they are dead wether thats animals or plants, its a measurable rate which allows carbon dating to work. The wood in the egyptian mortar that was carbon dated decays at a known rate, the carbon decay wasnt happening any faster than it does in any other old wood

Egyptologists would have us believe that the Great Pyramid and its two sister pyramids were built in the early dynastic period of the Old Kingdom, about 4,600 years ago.

The highlighted phrase should be a big red flag for anyone trying to research any subject.

It always is for me. I peruse dozens of articles to prepare some of my posts, and any that contain phrases like the above are rejected without a second look.

As to this particular quote, it's so stupid as to be kinda funny. Is this dude seriously suggesting that there's a world-wide conspiracy of Egyptologists (and me) conspiring to misrepresent the age age of the Pyramids?

Geeze Louise, no surprise that people believe in bigfeets, is it?

I didn't bother reading that link earlier, but its interesting that the only named source is Alan Alford, who the author misnames as "Alsford" and who is significant only as he is one of the only pseudo history authors who ever recanted pretty much everything he'd ever said and then retired.
:D
I have a picture of me and Alan together somewhere, I'll dig it up if anyones interested, its quite ahem, interesting
:p

Not only that, but... well, I'll let this post in the "What is your favourite? [conspiracy theory to laugh at]" thread explain...

Oh the Freeman is a hoot but my all time favorite is the nameless conspiracy that somehow causes all the archaeologists and specialist who analyze the pas[t] to hide all the evidence of aliens, advanced humans, advanced technology, etc, I call it the cloak of hiding stuff conspiracy

Dear old Zahi Hawass is the uber-meister of this conspiracy. ;)

I read the link in hopes of being able to answer KotA properly, but 's just vague waffle, and no archæology at all.

I don't know who this Alford guy is, but bring him along and I'm sure we'll make something interesting out of it.

;)

<quote lost beneath the sands of time>

When he first started out as a director at the EM, I suspected that Dr Hawass was actually planting stuff for people to discover.

He just came across as being more of a PT Barnum than a Howard Carter.

It's just his natural enthusiasm that created the impression though, and his credentials are beyond reproach.

Besides, he's found some really hooge stuff, that obviously couldn't have been planted by NAEO archæologists.

ETA: Actually, I like the sound of the New Ancient Egyptian Order (NAEO). Consider it launched as of now.

.

Alan Alfords first book was "Gods of the new millenium", its about as awful a piece of pseudo nonsense you could ever read. Alford took the ideas of Zechariah Sitchin and elaborated on them at length. Sitchin of course loved this. Later when Alford learned more about real history he realised that he'd been had and issued a retraction which was printed in all his books
in response from Sitchin he received this
Date: April 16, 1999

Dear Mr. Alford,

It has come to my attention that you have made it a practice, in public talks and otherwise, to precede your presentation of your own writings by devoting a major part of your time and space to badmouthing me, my writings and my theories and conclusions.

You are of course free to hold and present your own ideas and theories on any subject you wish; you are not free to defame me, destroy my reputation and wilfully cause me harm.

You ought to be mature enough to present whatever you have to say about your own work without seeking justification for your own theories by viciously attacking mine.

I trust you will give this letter serious consideration.

Sincerely,

Z. Sitchin

it was accompanied by a news clipping which Alan describes
Enclosed with the letter was a news cutting from the New York Times, dated April 14, 1999, which described how a New York law firm had agreed to pay 50 million dollars compensatory damages to Lexecon Inc, a Chicago consulting firm, for its attempts to discredit it and destroy its reputation. Sitchin had underlined in red ink the words ‘50 million dollars’, ‘destroy its reputation’, and ‘discredit’.

so whos covering up the truth here ?
:p

this is me and Alan at the 2006 FKCUK

hes looking at the exit and wondering if he can make it before I bring him down

he also has a wiki page
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_F._Alford
considering that everything this man stands for is against the idea of ancient astronauts I am very suprised that KotA used someone quoting him as a source, as if he hasn't really done any research at all
:D

My problem, Sir, is NOT that I gave been corrupted by reading Hancock & Daniken.

My 'problem' is that I have seen "Chariots of Fire in the Heavens", myself. And the things I saw weren't ours. What I saw was beyond 'similar' to the images and descriptions of "god", what I saw was beyond human technological capability.

If you'd seen a black ox take on a blue hue as the sun glints off of it just right, the story of Paul Bunyan might just take on a different meaning for you.

You're right though, I am constantly going through this process called life. My conclusions are likely to change as I encounter new evidence and have different experiences.

That said, I have greatly appreciated your many thoughts and insights, on these matters.

You are a wealth of knowledge, and only just a little biased by your own engrained programming. We are all prisoners of our own perspective.

Anyone reading them is corrupted by them, or you wouldn't be interested in reading them

I saw a stealth bomber carrying out operations in Desert Storm, it was a completely new thing back then, but I didn't immediately assume that because I was seeing something then that it must have always been around.

The more you study ancient history the more you will understand the context for it, the more that happens the less room there is for people making connections where none exist. Even if your sighting really was an incoming shuttle of Aliens from Alpha Centauri, how do you figure that they were here earlier when there is no credible supporting evidence ?
thats a very obvious Non sequitur

See, YOU dismiss the credibility of evidence when it contradicts your conclusion...

I have posted many links to ancient artwork that features things flying around the Heaven well before the Wright Brothers flew at Kittyhawk.

I get your context argument. really I do.

However, to dismiss EVERY historian that has recorded as best they could "gods in the heavens", throughout history as pure fiction is folly- IN MY OPINION.

People have seen what I saw since we could carve on walls.

Your retort is that, people have always had active imaginations, God is fictional.

THIS is my biggest disagreement with your conclusion. The artwork we've discussed features a something, based on the observation of a reality. Now, I'll concede that not ALL such images are exactly accurate or that EVERY single depiction of God was based on first hand observations.

That said, because of my personal experiences, I see such images in a very different light than you do. I only wish for you an experience that forces you to reconsider your present conclusions, in regards to non-human piloted u.f.o.'s and their presence in our historical record.

What in the name of Horus is this Chariots of Fire stuff about?

It was again, my bad...

Although I think it was more accurate than "Chariots of the Gods", given that I don't ascribe a capital "G" to the term "god"...

Having never seen a "chariot of fire" up close, the term is just as inter-changeable as "u.f.o.", although "object of light" would seem even more accurate.

Heh heh. No problemo.

I know all about Chariots of the Gods, but I had to Google Chariots of Fire. I only knew the Vangelis music, and I had no idea what the film was about.

Easy slip to make, I reckon.

:)

You haven't got any evidence, look at what happened with your pyramid of the sun/great pyramid comparison, you were about to claim that was E.T. significant til people pointed out it wasn't even statistically significant, this because you have no objectivity and see Aliens everywhere they arent

Your memory failing or something, you posted a link to a woo site that claimed well known features from renaissance art were alien spaceships which was immediately refuted but you didn't accept that art experts knew what they were talking about. In essence thats just dumb arrogance

However, to dismiss EVERY historian that has recorded as best they could "gods in the heavens", throughout history as pure fiction is folly- IN MY OPINION.
Theres that claim again, do you remember the many times I asked you to name one of these mystery historians and you were totally unable to name one of them, got any names yet ?

People have seen what I saw since we could carve on walls.
people have suffered from self delusion a lot longer than that
Your retort is that, people have always had active imaginations, God is fictional.
My retort to all of your claims has been to show you what you were really looking at was nothing to do with Aliens. You have just been unable or unwilling to accept the facts
I only wish for you an experience that forces you to reconsider your present conclusions, in regards to non-human piloted u.f.o.'s and their presence in our historical record.
this is because you know nothing about me at all, I used to believe all the woo crap too, then I educated myself like you should be doing. You are starting in a position of total ignorance and pretending you know more about history than anyone else, you don't and its very clear to anyone whos ever read your posts that you don't and with your attitude of thinking you have all the answers without doing any of the work never will
Socrates had people like you in mind when he said
"I know nothing except the fact of my ignorance."
