Heretic Pharaoh
So, who's gonna be first second to completely forget which thread they're posting in?
Sorry. Back on topic(sort of): Why don't you think that aliens built the pyramids? When will you accept your responsibility to prove that they didn't?So, who's gonna befirstsecond to completely forget which thread they're posting in?

Makes perfect sense, since as we all know, men and dinosaurs walked the earth together 5,000 years ago. It's right there in the bible.I thought bible giants built the pyramids using dinosaurs as beasts of burden. Wasn't someone claiming this a year or so ago in another thread?

Well, I heard that the alignment of the pyramids and other, you know, old stuff is evidence that the New Testament writers told the truth and also proves something about Yowies.
How do you find out that your pyramid is too steep, does it start sliding out at the bottom?

Okay, a serious question, since you seem to know a lot about this. My understanding is that the Great Pyramid is built at 51 degrees 51 minutes , at least that is the angle I use (I build a lot of wooden pyramids). Are the Giza pyramids all built at different angles? That kind of throws a wrench into the pyramid power mythology.Good point.
I'll start with this.
I posted something about this subject here a while ago, but I can't find the post. This is the picture I used though:

The pictures are meant to illustrate, more-or-less, the major stages in development of the true Pyramid from its precursor, the mastaba.
The Pyramid on the left is that of King Djoser at Saqqara, the earliest one built. It's similar to the Aztec(?) ones and really, it's a pretty obvious way to make a big pile of rocks look a bit more 'monumental'
The second Pyramid is one of Pharaoh Snefru's attempts (he had three, including a red one) at Dahshur. It shows the way they discovered that 55° is way too steep, and 43° is much more stable.
The last picture is one of the Pyramids at Giza, Pharaoh Khafre's I think, a 'modern' one and pinnacle of the art. It's built at 53° 10' and appears to be holding up quite well.
ETA: I'll ask the audience for a better guess on that last Pyramid. I don't think it's Pharaoh Khafre's, but it's definitely up around Giza somewhere.

No one would use dinos when they have teh Jews.
i hadn't seen that in the thread yet
Which brings up the obvious question. Yowee/BF who would win?
So either the structure was collapsing or the Pharoh was.
Humm...this is one of these thing I thought I knew (structural collapse) but it seems more research(googling) is required.
Your post has caused me to learn new things and rethink previous positions. I hope you will not let this happen again!!![]()
The what now? It sure as Horus ain't in the Book of the Dead so it's probably wrong.
Anyway, everyone knows that dinosaurs come from Loch Ness and Australia.
All my Hebrews escaped. They all went batpoo crazy and jumped in the Red Sea and we never saw them again, the gits.
The Jewish one.
Aheem...
"How old is the Sphinx?"

I want to stress that i always tell my customers that I don't believe in pyramid power, but I build them at the correct angle anyway.

I've never believed that the accuracy was within individual minutes, even though the angles are stated using them. I don't know what error a minute would translate into on something as big as a Giza pyramid, but on the scale I'm working, it means thousandths of an inch. The whole idea that the angle was arrived at from a pratical engineering standpoint makes sense , of course, and it also pokes a hole in the pyramid power mythology, which holds that the specific angle is needed to focus the energy and produce the claimed effects. You're good, I reckon.
Your angle is right for the Great Pyramid of Pharaoh Khufu. My 53° 10' was for Pharaoh Khafre's.
Pharaoh Menkhare's was different again at about 52°.
A lot of the design work was a long period of trial-and-error to come up with the ideal angle, and getting those three big babies to withing a couple of degrees was probably as good as they could get it, and good enough to have stayed up for a bit.
No hocus-pocus at all. Superlative engineering though. Nobody ever did better with stone than the Two Lands.
