As a self professed left winger, I've been a fan of uber liberal radio personality Mike Malloy since his days on Air America-

Mike can get a bit venomous at times- I always thought his tangents about 'The Bush crime family' were a bit over the top- but his show is entertaining-I liked it when he read chapters of '1984' every night on his show.I share his contempt and distain for the radical right wing that has overtaken the Republican Party......

But Mike Malloy has fallen off the turnip truck into Truther land......And of course, he never cites proof when he insists 9/11 was an inside job. He thinks Bush and Cheney were behind it all.....

When he goes on a Truther rant on his radio show(which is often), I tune him out,and would listen again when he seemed to regain his marbles....

He recently declared the recent failed attempt to bomb an airplane was 'clearly an inside job'.Um,,his proof? None whatsoever....

I admit, Mike Malloy is a VERY paranoid person, and possibly insane.....But I tune in his radio show every so often....

For anyone familar with Mike Malloy- how deeply is he involved in the '911 Truther' movement?
Sometimes lurks on Huffington Post message boards, and attacks debunkers who question the Truther conspiracies, and accuses debunkers of being government schills.......

I admit, Mike Malloy is a VERY paranoid person, and possibly insane....

Paranoid and possibly insane? That's usually a formula for success in radio. Glenn Beck got his start on radio... and then there's Alex Jones. Radio, especially late night radio, is ideal for spreading and humoring CTs and other forms of woo.

I'm not that familiar with Malloy but I listened to his show on line a few times several years ago when Air America was just starting up.

Richard Greene of Air America hosted several mostly uncritical shows with truthers back in 2008. He practically fawned over David Ray Griffin who was eager to get off the air so he wouldn't have to talk directly to Ron Wieck.

I had an mp3 clip of that and will post it if I can find it.

I don't have the clip from Greene's show with DRG and Wieck. Greene did a show with truthers and token debunkers every week in May 2008, which the TM had designated as the "Month of Truth." For the masochists, I did find this show online.

Yeah, I was disappointed in how much so many of the Air America hosts were into CTs. Never could stand Malloy because the truthers on Democratic Underground LOVED him. They called themselves "Truth Seekers."

Al Franken and Rachael Maddow were the least trutherish. I once heard Frankin tear some CTer a new one of Paul Wellstone's death. The CTers insisted he'd been murdered. Wellstone was a friend of Frankin's. Frankin basically told the CTer to get a damned life.

I liked Malloy until he drank the Twoofer kool-aid. For some topics, he can be fact-based and cite good sources.

Yeah, that video sums it up. At the time it was like , if it had come out last week it wouldn't have even raised an eyebrow.

In Glen Beck's case...I think it's an act....His on air persona is modeled after the insane news broadcaster from the film 'Network'.
Clearly his crying fits are fake.....

In contrast, Mike Malloy's on air personality and descent into madness is quite real...Malloy has grown increasingly paranoid and angry- He keeps getting fired, and his radio show seems to be moving from city to city- He keeps getting canned every time his management realizes that the guy is truly nuts.What gets me is that Malloy seems to really believe that anyone who doesn't think 9/11 was an inside job was somehow in on it....
If a caller disagrees with Malloy on 9/11, he'll hang up on them, strap on his tinfoil hat, and spew some Truther lunacy....

Check out his website message boards sometimes, the Truthers there are pretty delusional..

I do like how Ed Schultz cuts the Truthers down to size....which may be why Mike Malloy angrily denounced Shultz as being a 'Republican plant'.
I think Malloy set his guns on Sam Seder for a similar reason...

what about radio personality Thom Hartmann? i think he's filled in for Malloy on occasion, and I've seen him on the Democracy Now channel- is he a 9/11 Truther?

He portrays himself as on the fence, but he also claimed he couldn't find anybody to defend the "official story" a couple of years back. I sent him an email, noting that SLC had been mentioned in Time, US News & World Report, Vanity Fair, and that I had been interviewed on the BBC and probably a dozen different radio programs. Nothing. A month later he was still claiming he couldn't find anybody.

He also signed the 9-11 Truth statement that got Van Jones fired.

There has not been "concrete proof" offered for either the "Oswald acted independently" nonsense that the Warren Commission puked out, or the Osama and the 19 dwarves theory that was instantly spewed forth regarding the 911 attacks.

There also has not been any "concrete proof" of any particular one of the countless alternative scenarios to either of the two ridiculously contrived aforementioned theories. One thing that has been proven beyond any reasonable doubt is that the "official accounts" of these and several other key events in recent US history are laughable.

It seems to me the 9/11 Truthers and Kennedy assassination conspiracy crowds simply choose to disbelieve the official findings, yet have never produced concrete evidence to back their conspiracy theories.

There is a difference between disproving the official findings, and simply not believing the official findings..Conspiracy buffs choose not to believe the official findings, yet never produce evidence that proves their views- when they do produce 'evidence', it is quickly discredited....

Why would you link the 70% in the US and worldwide who are well aware that JFK was murdered as a result of a conspiracy, with "flat earthers"? I'm not sure of how many people still believe that the earth is flat, but I would say it is considerably less than 70%. That seems like a very disingenuous and dishonest tactic, wouldn't you agree?

Recently Howard Hunt who was photographed in Dallas shortly after JFKs murder admitted to being a part of one of several teams of assassins present in Dallas that day. In courts of law, deathbed statements carry more weight than ordinary statements. Would that qualify as evidence in your flat earth world?

I do not deny that the so called "holocaust" occurred, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility that it may have been exagerated for political reasons. What is troubling to me is the fact that people who question the official story regarding that series of events are now being locked up for viocing their opinions. Can we look forward to a day when Warren Commission "deniars" or Zelikow Commission "deniars" are locked up for questioning the "official" accounts regarding these events?

The RFK murder was most definitely a result of more than one gunman and the fatal shot was definitely NOT fired by Sirhan. There was PROOF of that rendered by LA County coroner Thomas Niguchi shortly after the murder. Niguchi who was one of the most respected coroners in the US at the time clearly stated and wrote that RFK was killed by a shot fired from point blank range from behind. Sirhan never got any closer than 4 feet from Kennedy as was testified to by dozens of eye witnesses. This was another obvious whitewash of a major catylizing event in US history.

There is more to the MLK murder than the official government report stated. It looks like Ray was another official patsy also.
