Obviously we can't contact Carter of Obama directly. I presume that you can therefore point me to their writings which claim Psalm 22 is about Jesus.

Or have you made the mistake of presuming that everyone who claims to be a Christian really believes and those that do believe; believe the same bits of the story and take the same understanding as yourself.

Christianity if a hopelessly split faith. There are over 34,000 separate denominations. Even within a single denomination followers can not agree what is right or what the bible means.

It is very unlikely that Jimmy Carter or Barack Obama share your view of God. Not that their belief, or lack of, in any particular God sway me one bit.

Excellent, thank you for bringing in information that is a strong indicator that all the varicous stigmatas in the palms of people (even a saint or two if I recall) that have appeared over the years have no basis in the biblical crucifixtion as accoring to this discussion and agreed to by you. The descriptions indicate that the nails were in the forearm or wrist. As the stigmata are in the palms that would indicate that they arise from an alternate supernatural source or are self inflicted at the wrong location based on thier reading of a mistranslation of the bible.

Christ said I am the vine and you are the "branches". He didn't say you are the branch.

And it could be said that the Protestant Reformation elevated the body of Christ (or the Church as a whole) by bringing a deeper understanding of the gospel message that wasn't there before the Reformation.

It could also be said that the Protestant Reformation led to the complete and utter exposure that the Bible's interpretation is subjective nonsense and that there is no message.
