Entertainer Lady Gaga is scheduled to perform at St. Louis' Fox Theater, and the redoubtable homophobe Fred Phelps has promised to show up with his crowd of "God Hates Fags" enthusiasts.

Evidently Fred feels that Lady Gaga is a recruiting tool for Satan....

Fred showed up here in St. Louis some years back for the 3-way presidential debates (the one with Perot) and set up in the "designated protest" area. He was unmercifully heckled by the university crowd, and someone stole his "God hates..." sign.
Eventually, he gave up and left.

I think Lady Gaga would win in a fight between her and God. Or her and Fred Phelps.
 
Phelps really doesn't hold back in his ranting of her. Why would a man of god use such filthy language?

Does he have any evidence for her lack of intelligence? Or her promiscuity (I mean she hasn't even asked me out yet, let alone gotten to 4th base)?

I'd like to see his reaction when she whips out her (alleged) penis. Apoplexy surely cannot be far off. (In fact that reminds of a story [can't remember where I heard it, sorry] of a guy who got so enraged at his video recorder that he had a fatal coronary).

Since my Wife likes Lady Gaga, I have to listen to it when we're in the car together. She's not half bad.

IIRC, CLG is a Brit, and thus probably not as up on baseball/makeout parlance of Yank slang origin as you or I.

I noticed Scotland in the location space, but I've never heard the slang outside of being a baseball reference.
 
I read the OP as meaning something along the lines of, "Even God hates Lady Gaga." Then the thread was about Fred Phelps. Phelps' God hates most people, so this is dog bites man. :)
 
I can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that due to my infrequent boob tube watching, I have never encountered any performances by this Lady Gaga person. Nor even seen he/she/it discussed on the boob tube.
The LA Times Calendar section has mentioned he/she/it a few times, but I have failed to read any of the blurbs/rants on the subject.
I am soooo out of it living a real life sans media fandom.

It was a 'rumor' that might have actually been started by Lady Gaga herself...
