If they missed WTC2 and crashed elsewhere it would most likely not have collapsed but would likely have been seriously damaged in the collapse.
ETA: Also truthers would most likely be claiming that "there was no way those highly trained pilots could miss a target that big!!!1!!"
Only the pilots at p4t dolt sanctuary are unable to hit the WTC towers and the Pentagon. All the buildings are much larger than most runways so only a few fringe idiots would say pilots can't hit a building.
Pilots land in a specific zone on the runway. Most airline pilots land within a few feet of center line on runways as small as 150 feet wide. The WTC towers were 207 feet wide, the Pentagon was the biggest target and the 70 foot tall sides are twice as tall as the runway threshold crossing height typical of some jets.
Terrorist pilots trained for years, had FAA licenses, and had time in large jet simulators. Saying pilots can't hit the buildings is as dumb as the nose-out delusion.
We have a nose-out delusion and we have the pilots at p4t paranoid 911 idea club saying they can't hit a building in the safety of a simulator. Take note of the pilots at p4t and don't fly with them, they can't hit a 207 foot wide building, they can't land on a 150 foot runway.
If you can hit buildings in FS you can do it in the real plane! Flying a 757/767 is easier then flying FS; the 707 and KC-135 have some control issues that may mess up your day; the 757/767 fly great. The terrorists wasted their money on flight training; most American kids can fly as well or better than the terrorist right off the street. (plus Canadian kids, New Zealand, Australia, all of Europe, Great Britain, Norway for sure gets another nod as they were represented in my Undergraduate Pilot Training class) The only pilots who can't fly better are with Balsamo at the house of nut case ideas on 911 called pilots for truth. Does Balsamo and p4t officially support the nose-out delusion?
