Palin Goes Rogue on Feminism

No, Palin isn't responsible for this. Standing on stage does not an interview killathon grant.

It put him on the national stage. There are lots of things that put people on the national stage. Think of all the people like paris hilton who have no reason to be famous and are. He is just one more in the same vein as all those people who are famous for being famous.
Problem is, everyone involved knows that the stories are complete garbage. In other words, mainstream news organizations are running tabloid material. Why? Will modern journalism lower their standards that much, simply for cash?

Who knows, the thing is that there is nothing remarkable about Levi in his fame. He got onto the national stage as a result of Palins actions, and now is ready, like her, to whore himself out to keep in the national spotlight.

Of all the criticisms of Palin, this one rings among the hollowest. Palin is not universally admired, but she is still very popular among a lot of people. Whatever your opinion of Palin or the people who like her, "the whole world" is rather obviously not laughing at her or her supporters, because a big chunk of the world is those supporters. Them's the facts, fool, however much you might wish it were otherwise. And sticking your head in the sand and pretending that everyone laughs along with you won't change that.

A big chunk of the world? I think not.How many people in China have heard of her? Not many supporters here in Europe either. You are confusing the U.S.A with the world.

What is this China and Europe that you speak of? The world Atlas clearly shows us that you can't travel more than 5 miles from the coast and 'There be Dragons'. Some people believe there is a mythical frozen land to the north called 'Ca-Na-Da' but most reject that as preposterous.

Last time I checked, being a requisite family member with one perfunctory appearance at the RNC is not a pretext for christening yourself Ricky Hollywood and touring talk shows. You say that like asking your family to appear at a political convention is unusual.

You focus on Levi, but the larger problem is the state of journalism today in its mad rush to grab outlandish, defaming stories simply because they draw the money in.

You do know that Levi was only on stage because of his engagement to Bristol, and so was only there because he knocked her up?

Sure, but this shows that the interest in Levi is only margionaly connected to Palin.

Hmm, I am wondering what kind of reality show Levi will get. I am thinking a dating show, maybe something like Cold Love and have it as the first alaskan dating show.

Sorry, the smiley was meant to imply I was not in any way serious in my inquiry.

Yes. He was locked in for son-in-law. That doesn't make much of a difference.

Hold on - you think people would care about Levi if he wasn't talking about Palin at this point?

Listen, peoples, it's all very simple.

Some guy who has no actual talent and who is not remotely interesting in himself has made it all the way to being a D-list celebrity, by virtue of a tangential association with a talentless C-list celebrity.

This happens all the time.

The reason the media occasionally mention him is not because they hate the aforementioned C-list celebrity. It's because they need something (no matter how stupid or irrelevant) to write stories about, before their worthless lives end in merciful death and the sweet oblivion of the grave.

He's attractive enough I guess and had a hint of scandal. Why shouldn't he get a fraction of what John from John and Kate is getting?

And yes he is partialy interesting because of being interested in her, so if she wasn't whoreing herself to the media he might not have as much interest in him.

Look at it this way, it is a match made in media whoredom.

The media isn't smart enough to write about anything else? Well, I guess I hadn't thought of that. Yet, by their own words, reasonable liberals must detest Palin and the "culture of thoughtlessness" or whatever that she stands for. The media is, on the whole, slightly leftward. What makes you think they're any different?

If the sole reason for media attraction wasn't Palin, he wouldn't be asked to dish (read: make outrageous claims) about Palin in every media appearance.

I don't think writing a book or posting on your public facebook page counts as being a whore to the media.

What does getting your teen mother daughter the spokesperson for abstinence only education count for?

We all know that Palin has been nothing but demure and reticent about her public persona, and only suffers the rigors of fame because of her deep moral and ethical commitments.

Any fool can see that.

Oh...

...

...any ... ?

...

Never mind.
