Liberals Obsessed With Conservatives?

Seems to me any extremist wing would be obsessed with their polar opposite, as it not only gives them the best talking-point fodder, but helps to define who they are, by contrasts.

As far as the non-extremist majority of any party, I wouldn't use the word 'obsessed' to describe their attitude: it's more the fascination of seeing a car wreck (or the complete attention given in a situation where someone is driving recklessly). This, latter, describes to me the attention paid to an extremist, and seems warranted, imho.

Well, it would be objectionable to say righties do molest livestock and little boys...

But a couple of righties do, so it is no longer objectionable to say this about righties.

That wouldn't prove your point, if it was a point in the first place. Now that I think about it, comedians are mostly unfair anyway. What's at fault here is your generalization of conservatives, not Jon Stewart et. al. playing current events for laughs.

That's pretty weak tea. Generally, the acceptable target is defined as which party holds the reins of power. Beyond that, you have the comedian's political views to consider. It really doesn't have anything to do with which party screws up more. Do you think the comedians are scratching down a tally and going from there?

I will grant you that the liberal-leaning comedy shows are funnier. I still watch the Daily Show from time to time. The Half Hour News Hour was a dismal failure.
 
How many liberals in this thread would be in favor of merging it with the "What's up with right wingers and rape" thread?

The only difference between the two seems to be which side started it.
 
I know a conservative that likes to read underwear catalogues while floating in a bathtub full of custard. But I wouldn't say that [/i]all conservatives do this....probably its less that 70% in reality

Remember that time when liberals in congress went on a witch hunt to decimate the American right by branding them all as fascists, ultimately destroying people's lives, causing them to be blacklisted and losing their livelihoods? Oh wait, no it was conservatives who did that to the left in America. yes, I know Bobby Kennedy was involved too.

Or perhaps the issue is that someone is so worried by criticism of conservatives, that they are seeing liberals behind every criticism?
