It's all donations, as far as I know. Like his "pledge drives" for appearances at AIA meetings, where he never presents papers...

It is basically like a rock tour. Local promoters guarantee the speakers' fees plus basic expenses, then sell tickets. We've already seen that Gage's basic fee is $500 speaker fee plus expenses.
 
I wonder if anybody bothered to follow the money trail. I wonder if there aren't certain political groups funneling this money.
