I've said before that Palin quit as governor of Alaska to carpet bag a governorship or senatorship of another state. Then, with more reputation, she would run for Pres in 2012. After tonight's interview I've changed my mind. She is running for president NOW.

Is it possible, in a room of two, to have more stupid?

ETA: On second thought, yeah, it's possible. Replace either one with Carrie Prejean.

Does she take any responsibility for last year or is this a 'blame everyone else' tour?

How unattractive.

Yeah, I would sure love to vote for someone for the most important job in the world, but who also quit her first job when the going got tough. That's exactly the kind of person we need as president - a quitter

Dude! Loosen up. Would the world be any the worse had the Shrub been a quitter?

Anything like Hillary's carpet bag trip to New York in 2000? ;) Or Bobby Kennedy's carpet Bag to New York? (Old Tom Lehrer joke: Massachusetts, in 1965, was the only state in the Union with three senators ... ) Nothing succeeds like success, does it?

Palin on Hannity tonight...

I didn't know that Fox News covered softball games. I thought that was on the Fox Sports channel.

Palin on Hannity tonight...

I just had a very disturbing visual regarding this scenario on Cinemax ...

Apologies, I need to go and wash the brain out with gin. Night all.

I tried watching it.. but couldn't get past the three minute mark.. Can you imagine if the GOP propaganda machine was actually able to convince the country to elect this woman as president?

Ad hominem. Yes, it is, because the direct implication is that they are unworthy of any relevance or consideration, because they are stupid.

Why take on any of their ideas, directly, and substantively, when you can just /handwave them as stupid. Complete underestimating their current relevance in the process. Oh yes, they do have some.

Don't take me wrong, I'm not trying to be an ass when I say these things, I'm trying to help people to try to get beyond this mode of debate, and into more substance. Watch the interview. See what they have to say, and take it on. Or, don't. But if you don't, just calling them "stupid" is a lazy and pointless ad hominem that carries no real persuasion.

Oh yes, PLEEEASE, enlighten us all about ANY original ideas either of these 2 people ever had regarding to modern politics, the economy. I am sure there is something! After all Palin IS an expert n the Soviet union since she can see it from her -backyard was it>

Hmm, well it's kind of like this watching a IDiot repeat the same BS about ToE Just how many times do you deem appropriate to have to sit through the drivel before we can decide that it's totally and completely without merit! The Republican party has has made an art of atracting the stupid and turning intellectual thought and ACTUALLY discussing the issues a vile thing! Palin and the Foux news crowd are just the window dressing for this mentality (that's not to say that the Dems don't do it either, but at least at this point the nutters don't rule the party)

Your pretentious comment about "just listen to them and see what they have to say" reminds me of the old saying - If you keep an open mind sooner or later your brain will fall out.

not quite the same. I know Hilary did not quit an office before her term expired to move to New York. I do not beleive that Bobby did so either, but am not as certain.

Yes both of your examples are of carpetbagging, but to me the relevant portion of the OP was not the carpetbagging, but that she quit a previously elected position in order to campaign for another one (while not legally required to do so).

Indeed.

*sigh*

Yes, her quitting was either just dumb, or a cynical, calculated political move that she/her handlers think will serve her ambitions.

This is politics, eh? You have to take risks sometimes to win the game. As I am still of the opinion that Palin wasn't ready for the big leagues as McCain's Veep, little she is doing now is changing my position that her Peter principle moment came as Governor of Alaska.

I hope she wins the nomination in 2012. It would be such a freak show. The entertainment value would be immeasurable.
