UFOs: The Research, the Evidence

I am sorry to do this... but it's unavoidable and some of you are actually going to get your wish!

I have to go away for a couple of weeks or so and will be unable to to post for the duration.

I know there are some outstanding issues and I know some people have put a fair amount of time into this and unanswered questions remain that deserve my attention. I apologise if that unduly inconveniences anyone.

I am not "dropping out" however, as I will pick it up again when I return (if there is anything left to pick up that is ;), as I still have a number of points that need to be made.

I can say it's been a hell of a ride so far - and I look forward to picking up again in a couple of weeks.

Regards,
Roger.

So, do you or do you not understand my point about burden of evidence ?

You are whistling in the dark my friend. Our Ufologist has taken a two week break. Perhaps he's been transported to the planet Marduk in the constellation of Pisces. When you look up there tonight, give a wave, you never know who's watching. :D

Sorry, small point of order, but the Box Office magazine's only reference to a blimp shows it being in Bremerton, Washington, and doesn't give an actual date that the blimp was there (the magazine was published on June 18).

Indeed, you are correct... I wish I'd logged on earlier and read this before I started reading up to page 60 of Box Office in order to find the relevant story.

And now I officially retract my previous map, as at this time, there appears to be no evidence of where the blimp flew to after it had done in Salem and Bremerton.

I must also add that Rramjets failure to even look at the evidence must be a (nother) black mark against him. It's very telling that he didn't bother to look... If he had, he could have honestly refuted the claim himself instead of relying on us sceptics to provide the amended information.

he's banned from planet Marduk, he could try Neberu if he can find it.
:D

likewise, theres no evidence to where it didn't fly to either, considering Rramjets claim was that there were no blimps on the west coast after 1947, the fact that we now have 2 instances where its proven they were running up and down west coast oregon towns in easy flying distance of the Rogue River is rather telling.

;)

blimps are cool, I like blimps, theyre cooler and the fact that on this occaison theyve shown Rramjet to be a complete fruitloop does nothing to diminish their effect on my psyche

And until he returns...

Keep watching the skies.

Yeah, I was out watching for Leonids the other night. Saw a lot of meteors but no UFOs (again!). My video tape did record an unusual formation of dark objects in the dawn sky. Careful examnation of the tape showed they were a flock of birds. Sigh.......well, at least I caugt a few bright leonids with the system (and several faint ones as well).

Of course, we have the recent events in the west. Around midnight on the 17/18, a very bright fireball was seen moving across the sky. It was captured in some way by many security cameras, meteor cameras, and a sky glow camera system. If an actual event can be recorded in such a manner, why can't various UFO events? Where is the effort by UFO proponents to establish a network of sky survey cameras to obtain real time data for UFOs? I guess it is far easier to talk about UFO events that happened decades ago than to establish an effort to capture real evidence.

Oh, so you're really an astro guy too huh :)
I've been waiting for the clouds to clear here so I can take my Skywatcher Explorer 200 out for a ride. But november in sweden...yuck!

November in New England USA is not much better but we had a run of a couple of clear days lately in time for the Leonids. It gets too cold this time of year for me to spend much time outside though. I used to go out all the time but as I have gotten older, I tend to look at the temperature and say "not tonight". After the Geminids in mid-December, it takes a bright comet, an aurora, something special to get me to stay outdoors more than a few minutes until March.

I got this cool program "Stellarium" it is much more convenient than a telescope. :D

I tried the programme, but am having problems with bringing up the options/settings - I get a fuzzy grey box. I am working form a lap top. Did you have a similar problem? - Tried the F&Q on the site, but it did not help much. Any suggestions? i.e. Resoultion setting on VGA...
Cheers

This subject is truly amazing seeing how every kook on the planet is attracted to it.
Each and every reference used so far are from people who have no credibility whatsoever.
Jacques Vallee for christ sake is used as a reference. Talk about gullibility. This takes the cake.

No, I haven't had any troubles at all with it.

I could PM you my config.ini file for it if you like. I'd better not post it here 'cos it's 200 lines.

Anyway, there might be some settings in there that you can fiddle with.

ETA: To answer your direct question, I've just tried it at 1024 x 768, 32 bit, on four different monitors, including my lappy, and it wurkz gud.
