You know, if this health "reform" bill that just passed the House is signed into law, we can use the precedent it sets to fix all sorts of other problems in this country. Never before, so far as I can determine, has the government enacted a law that requires the purchase of a product or service as a condition of residing in the US. But once we get over that wall, just think of what we can do!
Worried about global warming? Just require everyone to buy a newer, more fuel-efficient car!
Economy a bit slow? Require five brand-new LED TV's in every household!
Think the kiddies could be doing better in school? Require parents to get broadband and a quad-core computer for everyone under 18!
Think the public could be more educated on current events? Require everyone to get a subscription to the New York Times!
Just think of everything we could do to make this country a better place. And all we have to do is follow the lead set by this wonderful bill (if it passes) and require people to purchase things as a condition of staying out of jail.
Constitution? WHO NEEDS IT!?!?
