Volume 13 of the Nuremberg Military Tribunal (NMT) publications, document NG-2586-J, a memo by Martin Luther on August 21, 1942 about the Jewish policy of the Reich mentions nothing about extermination; point number 8:

"On the occasion of a reception by the Reich Foreign Minister on 26 November 1941 the Bulgarian Foreign Minister Popoff touched on the problem of according like treatment to the Jews of European nationalities and pointed out the difficulties that the Bulgarians had in the application of their Jewish laws to Jews of foreign nationality."
"The Reich Foreign Minister answered that he thought this question brought by Mr. Popoff not uninteresting. Even now he could say one thing to him, that at the end of the war all Jews would have to leave Europe. This was the unalterable decision of the Fuehrer and also the only way to master this problem, as only a global and comprehensive solution could be applied and individual measures would not help very much."

No, just uninterested, lazy, cowardly, dumb, wanting a comfortable life as accepted part of the crowd.

How many dissidents were there during Soviets times, even after Stalin? A handfull. Most people are not born for heroism, they just want their peace and they say what the people in power want to hear. There is no conspiracy, just conformism and obedience to law and accepted norms.

The Bulgarians, while allied with Germany, did not support them in their war against the Soviets (in fact, didn't Bulgaria even keep their embassy open?) and did not support the German polcies against Jews -- do you think this was written with the knowledge of the audience that would see it?

1937. Document contains a warning to all those camp commandants who want to mistreat the prisoners. An SS-man who did so was degraded. A simple box on the ear is considered 'full mistreatment'.

Completely at odds with the general pictured delivered to us by the likes of Spielberg.
