Cat registered as hypnotherapist

So what will this change? I don't live in the UK, so I don't know what the attitudes of the people there are towards hypnotherapy...

I don't suppose that this will change anything but it, and the spluttering that will come from the believers as they try to explain it, will give skeptics a chance for a good horse laugh or two. ;)

Reminds me of when pets were getting credit cards a while back. Haven't heard of it happening lately, though.

It's an indictment of the lax registration procedures of those so-called professional bodies, not of hypnotherapy as a treatment. I don't believe that it has ever been demonstrated to be an effective form of treatment, but that is another matter.

Reminds me of when pets were getting credit cards a while back. Haven't heard of it happening lately, though.

When I bought my house several years ago the local power company asked if anyone else would be living with me and I said, "Just my dog 'Cash'." She asked if I wanted him to be on the account, I laughed and said yes.

4 years later and the bills still come addressed to him. When I need to talk about my account they always ask to speak with him. I finally explained what was going on and they threatened me saying that pets are not allowed to be on accounts. I explained that they were the ones who made the error and they still haven't taken him off the account.

Ben Goldacre's cat has the exact same qualifications as 'Dr' Gillian McKeith, UK TV nutritionist. The unfortunate difference is that Ben's cat is dead.

Meaning that the cat will make significantly fewer mistakes!

They didn't even check out the fake credentials. I could start charging for being a hypnotherapist and I don't even know how to hypnotise someone. I just have to say I'm certified with:
Society of Certified Advanced Mind Therapists

I'm gonna go practice swinging clocks around that are dangling from a thread. Hey, I got hypnotized in a bar once... I can sorta remember what the guy said.

The cat, George, was also registered as an NLP practitioner.
It is good that they allow this to happen. It is so revealing.

Should anyone suggest a law that will ban NLP from cats, we should sue them for discrimination.

Oh this brings to mind something in a lawsuit way back in 1995,
the "therapist" Dr.H kept refering in her notes to as "co-therapist" named Doug,
it turned out that Doug was a dog.

Minnesota 1996-JAN-25; Carlson et. al. v Humenansky

P.S. Carlson won ;)

Ah yes, the late Hettie got her membership of the American Association of Nutritional Consultants a year after becoming deceased:

Ben also pointed out that anyone in the UK can call themselves a nutritionist as it's not a protected word.
