Just the latest wrinkle in the "King James Only" movement,which has been around for a while.
Describing the NIV as a "Liberal" translation is drop dead funny, though, since it was pretty much done by fairly conservative Evangelicals,and is the translation used by that ultra liberal firebrand Billy Graham.

Rope. Rope would be closer to what is being communicated in that verse. Ghamil being the Aramaic word for both camel and rope. How do you get a rope through the head of a needle? By reducing it to a single strand, which would fit with the constant parable of disciples giving up possesions to follow Jesus.

Seems to me that a hair through needle is the same as saying that something is easy, which is really what they would want to say if writing a "free market" friendly Bible.

Let's see, Barry White was black, and his songs contain some of the finest get laid mood music ever. The worship and yearning for his object of affections is palpable.

His music is like a soul version of the Song of Songs.

The Song of Songs is some of the best seductive verse ever (yes, I have had much benefit from that scripture, verily I say unto you, once I saw how to use it on a TV movie "The Coward of the County" starring Kenny Rogers).

If that means David or the narrator was black, then Barry White is bloody well biblical, most holy, and worthy of beatification or something else wonderful.

Can I get an Amen here, brothers and sisters?

I'd go so far as to say that you've cherry picked about the only morally good sentiment in the entire Bible.

Not to mention that the word "Hell" is not in the original languages. Gey Hinnom (or Greek: Gaihenna / Gehenna) is a place in Jerusalem, a dump in the valley south of Jerusalem proper (the current Old City). How did it become "Hell" in translations, who knows?
