Has Gadhafi completed one coherent sentence at the U.N. address?

I have this on now and he is spouting all sorts of conspiracy theories on top of the ramblings he's been giving for several minutes. Yow...

My wife is watching with amazement (even missing Oprah or something similar). She keeps asking, "When is he going to finish?" I've been telling her my guess is sometime on Thursday or whenever he wets his pants -- whichever comes first.

:bunpanOh, and:iblamelisa:

I was watching on my work lunchroom (so difficult to hear clearly) and at one point I thought he made allegations that the JFK assasination was an Israeli plot. Did I hear that correctly? If so, is this something that has been around in the CT world before, or is this new crazy? I am also wondering why this is of any interest or relevance to the president of Libya

Very hard to follow with something about sodomy when I started, drifting into the Kennedy assasination and then I left.

I could barely watch.

I saw him saying something about nuclear weapons and who should get them.

After such incoherent nonsense, even a few minutes of it, I decided to watch something I enjoy.

Thankfully, I'm now enjoying the Top Gear crew trying to cross Botswana.

I am no fan of Obama, but Gaddafi liking him is hardly Obama's fault. As G. B. Shaw said, Obama isn't responsible for every idiot who agrees with him about something (although it's hard to see what Gaddafi is saying Obama -- or anybody else -- would agree with.)

He looked exactly like that schizo homeless guy at the street corner.

ETA: any word on the state of health of the simultaneous translator? Might be a good idea to put him on suicide watch.

I have an image of the other world leaders in private laughing their heads off at Gadhafi's speech.

Well, Libyans in general have trouble finishing their sentences.

(cor... look Mother, satire!)

Not sure, but he may have had a nervous breakdown. I did notice that late in the speech (at least on the channel I was watching) they switched translators (pretty obviously too since the frist translator was male and the second female)

I honestly was not sure at first if it was just that the translator was having difficulty keeping up with Gadaffi's pace or if in fact Gadaffi was just stark-raving mad. When he got to the rant about US soldiers sodomizing POW's I started to suspect the latter. At the 'Israel assisinated JFK' I was pretty sure, and when he moved on to H1N1 was a bio-weapon, I became certain.

I really do have pity for that poor man tasked with the RT translation of that diatribe. It could not have been easy

We might have a really, really close competition between Gadhafi and the President of Iran for the title of "Most Insane Mid East head of State".

He reminded me of that guy The Birds who had his eyes pecked out. Completely black, lifeless voids.

I sure feel bad for the translator. Re-transmitting all that crazy with a straight face.

I feel a little bit of Schadenfreude, I must say -- now y'all know how it feels to see similar quotes by Arab leaders in the press every day as a regular part of the news (Israeli press, naturally, reports the sayings of Hamas, Fatah, Assad, etc.)

He was up there forever, and not once did he tell how to spell his freaking name in the Roman alphabet.
