A mutant sloth? What about the scale of the pic. There is always a lack of good photographic evidence....

It reminds me of that "baby alien" case we discussed here. But THIS TIME, they have the entire and fresh body to investigate, so theres no excuse for a DNA test failure.

I can smell fraud from this one too. Let´s see if it ever comes out.
 
Looks like ET and a giant chicken mated.

Hoping it's a new species discovered and not just a hoax.
 
If it is real, one suspects the "terrifying creature" might have been slightly more terrified itself as it was beaten to death by a bunch of panicky teenagers. :(

I hope it's a hoax.
 
We have two threads on this.

It's a dead sloth. It has been in the water and most of the hair has come off. It's in nearly the same condition as the dead raccoons (Montauk Monster) that washed up in the USA.

A DNA test would be a wasted effort. It's a sloth that has been dead in water.

So the teenagers are claiming they attacked and beat to death a sloth that was... already dead?

Wow. Kids today.
 
Indeed it looks like a mutated sloth, look at its face, its the same friggin face!

Something suspicious is going on in central america, I wish there was a qualified criminal investigation to find out what they are doing to these animals over there, or if all of these recent pics of "monsters" are simply being edited.

From a brazilian source I read that on sept 15th they found a headless sloth at the same place that this "monster" was killed...
 
A plausible hypothesis. The crazy kids found the sloth dead in water, took off all of its hair and fabricated the story. Typical.

The sloth has been dead in water for some time. The hair falls out, the body bloats and becomes pinkish. This sloth is not recently dead. I would guess at least 3 days dead.

Who knows if the kids killed it or just found it dead. It may have drowned.
 
I labeled a few things. If it really is a cave, then the cave has some water. Probably a pool of water, or even a spring.

Thanks for that! I didn't even notice the claws before.

I truly hope that the hair did fall out through some natural process, as a world where somebody takes the time and effort to shave the dead, bloated corpse of a sloth, just to hoax a picture, isn't a world I want to live in:eye-poppi

Me neither!! Especially in a world where they would kill the creature for this reason.
